#Mayhem continues in Oklahoma City this Thursday with an 8 team double-elimination tournament culminating in a best-of-three Championship Series beginning June 3rd.

This is the Gophers' first ever trip to the WCWS.

With three Big 10 teams hosting regionals (Michigan, Northwestern, and Minnesota) and two teams making it to Super Regionals (Northwestern lost to top-ranked Oklahoma in their matchup), there is a lot of excitement that the emergence of the Gophers as another national power from the B1G is helping to establish a little more parity in the north/south softball power balance. A strong B1G is huge for the growth of an amazing sport.

I'm always amazed at the crowds for this, yet it never translates to the NPF. There's clearly a market for softball, yet the NPF always falls short.

The NPF is a joke league that can't market itself out of a wet paper bag. It's sad that they have been at this for 19 YEARS now and still can't take a step forward without falling on their collective faces.
