Augustus having Arthroscopic Knee procedure today at Mayo. Going to miss more time.

According to Derek James, she was in good spirits all night so hopefully this is just a minor thing.

Obviously not a good thing to have players hurt, but giving players like Collier, Sims and even Brown more opportunity to settle in with more playing time than would have been available might be good for them. Seimone can take her time getting back, and Christmas-Kelly's always been a role player who fits in where necessary. If she can get healthy I'd expect her to slide in fairly smoothly.

Yeah, part of me was wondering if the positive play by the youngsters didn't perhaps inform the decision to have the procedure and take her time getting back, rather than trying to get back as soon as possible.

She seemed so genuinely excited for them tonight while cheering them on from the bench.

Odd that they would wait this long ... even best case, she's out for a month.

That's why I was thinking it may have been one of those things they could have gone either way on, either done it or play through the season and do it after. But perhaps after watching the team play they feel more comfortable with being more conservative with her and not hurrying her back.

Would rather have Seimone full strength for a potential playoff push. I like the guards we have at the moment.

Reporting the typical timetable for Augustus' procedure is 6 weeks according to @_katiedavidson at The Athletic.

I don't know what procedure Augustus is having, but recovery "timetables" usually mean recovery sufficient to conduct normal living activities without unacceptable pain or disability. Recovery sufficient to perform high impact professional sports activities may be an entirely different thing -- not to mention the rustiness of individual and team skills that attend any long term absence, medical or otherwise, from actual play.

This was a timetable to return to full action. It was a minor procedure that was undertaken for pain relief. Doctor said the idea is Augustus will feel "significantly better", but of course no guarantees.

Collier is better prepared to play the small forward than Gabby Williams, who I am pretty sure came to UConn as a guard.

Because Gabby can't shoot, which was known before Chicago selected her so high. And she can't outrebound 6'6+.

What's the point? That Lexie Brown is on pace to be a front-runner for the Minutes Increased Player award? Smile

I was a Lexie Brown fan when she was in college. I believed she had the basketball skills to excel in the WNBA. It was very discouraging last season to see her buried so deep on the Sun's bench that she was given the crown to being the queen of Narnia. Now that Brown has left Narnia the citizens are going to give the crown to Anigwe.

Shepard has a torn ACL. Out for season. Damn.

Crying or Very sad

So sad for her. I seriously believe she would have made the all-rookie team.

Get Well Shep.

Jess has quickly made herself irreplaceable, imo, but the Lynx have Fagbenle coming back soon so that will help.

Sucks when this happens to any player. Here's hoping for a fast recovery.

Dang it. She was playing so good and had such a good connection with Collier. Hopefully she’ll come back even better next year.

Really a shame after such a promising start (and before she gets to make any proper money overseas, too). As a player who wasn't exactly reliant on quickness, hopefully she can make a full recovery and be back for next season.
