My list in alphabetical order:
1. Bevilaqua
2. Catchings
3. Coleman
4. Douglas
5. Dupree
6. January
7. Johnson
8. Larkins
9. Mitchell
10. Sutton-Brown
11. Wheeler
12. Williams |
Catchings is the clear #1. Without her, they would have never won a title or gone to the 2009 Finals(possibly best ever and saved the franchise). |
Of course she is. My list is alphabetical.

It’s difficult to come up with 12.

Allison Barber sat in the "situation room" tucked away in the basement of the West Wing of the White House. The conference table was massive. The mood was serious. Condoleezza Rice loomed at the head of the table.
Rice was stern on this day. She was displeased. The office of global communications she wanted set up in Iraq and London wasn't happening fast enough for her liking.
Torie Clarke, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs and Barber's boss at the Pentagon, looked Rice straight in the eyes.
"When I want something done, I give it to Allison." |

Quote: |
Pacers Sports & Entertainment (PSE), the legal entity behind the Indiana Pacers and the Indiana Fever NBA and WNBA basketball teams, respectively, announced a security breach on Friday during which hackers gained access to sensitive user information.
In a press release published yesterday, the company blamed the breach on a phishing campaign during which hackers managed to gain access to several PSE employee accounts.
It said hackers had access to these accounts between October 15, 2018, and December 4, 2018.
PSE is notifying customers now, but the company said it learned of the breach way back last year, on November 16, leaving many to ask themselves: What took so long?
"After a thorough review of these email accounts, PSE determined that a limited number of personal records were present in the affected emails," the company said. |

Fever cut Alexander and are down to 12. Something like:
K.Mitchell/Wheeler
T.Mitchell/Kea
S.Johnson/A.Taylor/Laney
Dupree/McCall
Achonwa/McCowan/Mavunga
...which just looks awful. Mitchell and McCowan better turn into the second comings of Pondexter and Fowles pretty damn quick or they're gonna suck. Again. A lot. |

Fever waived Kayla Alexander. Saw this day coming since they day they traded for her.
https://fever.wnba.com/news/kayla-alexander-waived-by-fever/
Fever got Alexander last year in exchange for the draft pick that became Sophie Cunningham and was one before Han Xu. Who knows that those players will turn into, but both clearly have more potential than the player we knew Alexander to be.
Pokey has got to go.

Indiana has first choice on waivers and Pokey might be waiting for the goodies.
LAS, CON, and maybe PHX might be ejecting some decent players.

Sure. But none of that makes the trade for Alexander make any sense.

I wasn’t trying to make sense of the Alexander trade. They got her for cheap, gave her a shot. Nothing to lose sleep over, unlike the Natasha Howard trade.
I was just looking on the bright side for Indiana. This is a good year to be #1 on the waiver list.
I thought Pokey did a good job with the draft. Might have the only active third round pick that sticks to a roster (Paris Kea).

not sure Pokey would take someone off of waivers unless it hit her in the face. And realistically I don't really see anyone being waived as being all that better than what she already has. What she needs is better starters, not better 11 or 12 players.
And she hasn't shown that she can coach anywhere as far as I can tell.

I disagree, Myrtle. Indiana have a thoroughly mediocre 9-12
Laney
Taylor
McCall
Mavunga
You think these players are irreplaceable?
Some of these players that will hit the waiver are ones these teams don’t want to cut but have to.

The Fever don't have any MVP-type players on their roster that can carry them. Dupree & Johnson are the veterans, but otherwise, it's a bunch of scrappy kids.

Of course they're not irreplaceable, but at this point they 'know' the system. Bringing in someone else's rejects (yeah, they may not want to cut them, but the reason they are being cut is because they're not as good as the 12 in front of them...therefore, they are also ATM replaceable/rejects.) I guess you could hope that one of the youngsters have upside enough to sit on your bench for a year or two and maybe improve enough to get into the rotation, but how many kids picked up off waivers have actually turned out to be useful? I don't know. maybe Pilight knows?

Ask the Liberty fans. Ever heard of Lindsay Allen? Mercedes Russell?
These trades lately probably would have been cut if they couldn’t do a trade.
Possible cuts yet
Carleton
Hiedeman
Holmes
Cunningham
YTurner
BTurner
Carter
Walker
Samuelson
Wiese
Call Me Mabrey
AJones
HPeters
Cazorla
Dietrick
McCarty
Burke
Gustafson
Colson
Nared
They aren’t all getting cut, but some will if others don’t.

Kea. Are you meaning only 3rd round pick this year to stick?

Indiana 9-12. Laney and Taylor looked fair. Laney pretty good defense. Taylor drive the basket ok. McCall is a contributor.
Their post players showed weaknesses in mobility, especially Mccowan. Slow to react. Massive body. One play stepped toward the ball and bumped Gustafson over about 4 feet with her hip.

And incidentally, a powerful argument against expansion.

Disagree. There will always be marginal players at the bottom of rosters. There is in every league. The real question for expansion is whether there is enough top-flight talent at the top of rosters to distribute across another team or two.

It's all relative. When the NHL only had six teams, there were "bad" players. When the NBA only had 12 teams, there were "bad" players. If you expand the WNBA, the offensive skill will be diluted but so will the defensive skill. After a while, the play reaches equilibrium.

I won't get into the offense or rebounding arguments, as they have been discussed a lot around here. But the idea that Iowa fans will spend the summer watching games in Indianapolis makes no sense to me. There is a debate to be had about the attendance impact of a local college star playing a big role on a WNBA team (Whalen in Minnesota or Douglas in Indianapolis, for example). But the idea that Hawkeye fans will drive more than 5 hours to watch Gustafson sit on the bench is ludicrous on its face.
