I bet Swords and Bone weren’t thinking “we’ve got to do this”.

Laimbeer pissed off virtually everybody in the NBA so he may have a point.

Swords has never complained (that I know about) about being a backup. She's played that role a lot in her career.

I am surprised to see that Swords didn’t start most games or come close to starter minutes last year. 12 starts in 26 games played, for an average of 14.4 minutes a game. (Bone started 10 of 32 games for 10.8 minutes per game. JiSu Park started 11 of 32 games for 13 minutes per game. Aja Wilson missed one game.) Although she has started every game of a season (2016), Swords has never played more than an average of 17.5 minutes per game in a season. Her career average is 12.4mpg. But not publicly complaining about playing time, and wanting to start or play more minutes are not mutually exclusive. But I would concede that by now she is used to watching most of the game as she has done it every year of her career. And I forgot that Harrison was traded for Cambage. Harrison was capable of taking minutes from the Aces posts as well.

Saw an article that says you guys are the favorite for the c'hip this season. I suppose its possible. I never count out a Laimbeer lead team. And if he can get out of Cambage what no other coach with the Shock/Wings could do (consistency, reliability, team first), the shot is legit.

Addition by subtraction. Not needed on the floor. Def not needed in the locker room. Go Bill! Another team offloads an expensive and unnecessary player. It's good for the game to have the best players on the team.

The Las Vegas Aces Are Going to Win the Championship This Year
Quote:
With newly acquired center Liz Cambage and a collection of no. 1 overall picks, the Aces are poised for glory in the 2019 WNBA season
- By Shea Serrano

By the time the night was over, the Wings were in the playoffs, the Aces were out of the playoffs, and Liz had recorded the league’s second 40-plus-point double-double game of the year. Liz ended the Aces’ season that night. Which is why it’s so perfect that it’s Liz who, after strong-arming her way out of Dallas this offseason and ending up in Las Vegas via trade, has turned the Aces into a proper title contender this season.

Looks like humble Swords gave up her #8 to Cambage.

I wonder if Laimbeer wanted to trade her but she’s not cooperating. That would make sense on both ends.

Maybe she was supposed to be the one dealt in the Cambage trade.

It’d be foolish for her not to report and collect her guaranteed salary, but maybe she’s getting one of those “divorce agreements” as Richyyy calls it.

Why would the Wings, who already have two “marginal players” making star money accept another guaranteed contract for another marginal player making star money?

I would hope the Wings aren’t that dense..

No people are just coming up with scenarios to understand Boneheads madness. Nothing factual at all .

Assuming a salary of 56,000 for Colson, I get
911,500 Total active roster cost
112,000 Bone’s full salary
1,023,500

If somebody hires Bone, do the Aces get their cap space back?
