Thanks to the electoral college, my vote in the presidential election is irrelevant |
It's actually not this time around.
There are several states (mine-CT- included) who will be giving their electoral votes to the popular vote leader. |
Not true yet. That only happens once states representing a majority of electoral votes pass laws to distribute their votes that way.

Marianne Williamson reaches donor threshold for Dem debates
https://www.politico.com/story/2019/05/09/marianne-williamson-2020-election-1315133

Author and lecturer Marianne Williamson has hit the 65,000-donor threshold set by the Democratic National Committee for the upcoming 2020 debates, her campaign announced Thursday.
Her announcement boasted that her campaign contributions came from more than 200 people in each of 43 states, which she said “far outpaces the DNC requirement of 200 people in 20 states,” referring to the Democratic National Committee. |
I got $1 that says the DNC changes the rules between now and the first debate

Elizabeth Warren: We Need To Invest In HBCUs — The Way We Should Have Been for Generations
Quote: |
That’s why I have a plan to invest a minimum of $50 billion in HBCUs and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). The Department of Education would have the power to automatically increase that funding as needed to make sure HBCUs can spend the same amount per student as other colleges. Colleges can choose what they want to do with that money -- provide free tuition for students, invest in new facilities, hire new faculty, or serve more students.
We’re going to pay for this historical investment with my ultra-millionaire tax, which is a small 2% tax on fortunes over $50 million -- affecting just about the 75,000 wealthiest families in America. The ultra-millionaire tax also covers the cost of the rest of my higher education plan, which includes student debt cancellation of up to $50,000 for 42 million Americans, free two-year and four-year public college, and a $100 billion investment in Pell Grants to cover non-tuition costs like room and board. Experts found my debt cancellation plan would help close the racial wealth gap by substantially increasing Black and Latinx wealth. |

I have decided to run for the Democratic nomination because of the ideological radicalization of the party that has occurred in recent years. These extreme views are marginalizing the party from the majority of the country’s population and many of the current nominees hold views that are in direct conflict with the perspective of the vast majority of the country. |

Democrats who watch Fox News as their primary news source...
ALIENS EXIST
Seriously though, in 2016 that demographic made up 1% of Bernie's primary vote and 4% of Hillary's.
Appealing to Fox News Democrats is not super high on the priority list, which is why Warren smartly turned down the Fox News Town Hall (she is appealing to partisanship in the crowded field to distinguish herself, which with the presence of Biden as an early front runner and Bernie's bipartisan focus is a good lane for her in the primary that could get her some solid traction).

Joe Biden’s campaign of limited exposure: How long can he keep it up?
Quote: |
Some Democratic strategists say Biden, 76, may be limiting his participation in freewheeling campaign sessions partly to play down the fact that he is older than the figure they may remember.
“Voters are going into events with him expecting ‘Uncle Joe,’ but they come out having seen ‘Grandpa Joe,’ ” said Rebecca Katz, a Democratic strategist who favors liberal candidates but is not working for a presidential campaign. |
‘Grandpa Joe’ not the best look for Biden
Quote: |
What had the national media types around me glancing uncomfortably at each other was the way he didn’t answer. He wasn’t obstructing. He was struggling. Throughout the two-hour event, he would suddenly stop mid-sentence and careen off to another topic, like your grandpa’s running commentary while watching Fox News. |
Joe Biden’s Early Campaign Strategy Doesn’t Involve Much Campaigning
Quote: |
So what’s Biden doing instead? Advisers say he’s working on “vital but less public activities,” including “fundraising, one-on-one calls, policy development, and the building of a campaign infrastructure.” He’s also attending private fundraisers. Last week, he attended two but didn’t hold any public events, according U.S. News and World Report. |

Democratic Party Will Impose Tougher Rules for Qualifying for Third Debate
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/29/us/politics/democratic-debate-rules.html
Quote: |
To qualify for the party’s third debate, scheduled for mid-September, candidates must attract donations from 130,000 individuals from at least 20 states and register at least 2 percent in four state or national polls from a list of approved surveys, the Democratic National Committee announced on Wednesday. |

This race has been over for a while. Biden has this in the bag. Even I'll admit I was wrong about Castro and Booker... they are blowing it BIG TIME.

Sanders: My plan to reduce student loan debt will be better than Elizabeth's.
Reporter: How
Sanders: I don't have the details.
Always. The. Same. Thing.
BTW: guess whose camp is pushing the "Elizabeth is unelectable" mantra...

Well, Mike is certainly a man with ideas!
Quote: |
Political positions:
The campaign's platform was released on April 7 to coincide with the campaign launch. It was released as a live Google Doc and the campaign asked for requests for amendments via Twitter. In response to the Black Socialists of America, Gravel self-describes as someone who supports "us moving towards a society where the workers control the means of production in a democratic and decentralized fashion".
Civil rights:
The campaign seeks to reduce the number of intelligence agencies from 17, including the abolition of the National Security Agency, as well as a U.S. withdrawal from the Five Eyes network, the ending of the PRISM surveillance program, and repealing of the Patriot Act and the Espionage Act. The campaign views many of these programs and organizations to be a 'trampling' of Americans' civil rights "in the rush to enhance security following 9/11". Whistleblowers Chelsea Manning, Edward Snowden, John C. Kiriakou, Julian Assange, Reality Winner, and Terry Albury would be given pardons and some would receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The campaign also focuses on "full equality for all of America's LGBTQIA+ people, with a special focus on transgender rights." This includes an amendment to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with the addition of a ban on discrimination due to "sexual orientation and/or gender identity in employment, housing, public accommodations, public education, federal funding, and credit", honoring transgender rights activist Marsha P. Johnson and author James Baldwin with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, banning conversion therapy nationwide and making the operation of a conversion therapy clinic a crime. |
How could one go wrong, voting for THAT!
