John Belushi as William Shatner/Captain Kirk as NBC shuts down the production of Star Trek.

A few years later, Shatner appears at a Star Trek convention telling the audience of mostly male participants to "Get a life" and "Move out of your parent's basement."

NPR did a re-run yesterday of an interview with Shatner (he was promoting his Christmas album, "Shatner Claus"). They made a reference to this quote.

One of the best parts about many of the Star Trek skits SNL has done is feature this wonderful individual as Sulu.
