| When the Chinese team does their tour of WNBA’s preseason, will the Chinese players be with their national team or their WNBA teams?

This sort of thing happened before. I think usually the player sits out the game.

I'm Chinese.
Sun is not that old but is clearly regressing. As you mentioned her biggest strength is stretching the floor. Solid post skills, runs the fast breaks. Good player with length and shooting touch who plays hard, but slow reaction time -> poor defense. Even worse rebounder, especially offensive. I'm not familiar with the Dream, but overall this is probably not someone to entrust a lot of minutes with, but she can add a spark off the bench in certain mismatch situations - just don't think of her as a rebounder or a traditional center.
China's biggest prospects are the young twin towers Li Yueru and Han Xu. Han with her crazy height and huge wingspan no doubt has bigger upsides and will probably fit the WNBA style a little better than Li, but Li is deceptively fast for her size and is IMO a bigger game-changer at this point.
Someone mentioned the young PG Li Yuan - very talented passer, but no WNBA prospect IMO. Terrible on defense. |
Thanks for the assessments. I do think it's going to be interesting to see if either of Li and Han make an impact, and if so which does better. Very different players that happen to play the same position, at the same age, and be coming from the same place.
For what it's worth, there were WNBA coaches interested in Li Yuan in Tenerife during the Worlds, but I agree she's a longshot. Might well get drafted next year, but making a team could be unlikely. She's really small. |

All we know if Prince & Vaughn are staying overseas for EuroBasket. Prince with Russia & Vaughn with the Czech Republic. The tournament runs through July 7. So if Katie Smith wants either player back, we'll only get them for half a season. Same applies for Johannes.

This is all IF Smith wants either one back. Frankly, I think we're fine without both of them and the Liberty shouldn't waste their time saving a roster spot or two for them.

Seattle deserved last year's championship, but, let's face it, they were the only healthy team left standing. Besides the obvious stars, any injury to Clark would have been devastating. Zellous now gives them a backup who can provide smart, gritty defense. Consider this: Clark was the only Storm player (KML, Quinn, and Sami could not) who could pester Taurasi; the veteran Zellous gives them more defense with 6 more fouls.
