Down to a one point lead for UConn.

KLS has been pretty awful.

Apparently someone clued him in at halftime

Stop it Lobo. That was not a flagrant foul.

I was thinking she doesn't even look like a W prospect the way she's playing in the moment. I wonder if the injury is still a problem.

I understand the call...but when you're up in the air like that and coming down, I'm not sure what they expect her to do with her hands.

Cori needs to be careful. She doesn't want a tech now.

Exactly, the UCLA player was clearly trying to minimize the contact.

And obviously they're looking for any excuse to hand more freebies to UConn.

I'm not surprised Close is livid at the hose job her team is receiving.

And Lawson remarkably has become UConn cheerleader in chief.

I agree. I was a basketball play. She expected KLS to go up with the shot. When KLS didn't, it wasn't like she could just hang there.

This call really changed the complexion of this game.

Then you're apt to come down chin on top of head.

Dean hasn't figured out why UConn is leaving her open at three.

I really didn't think this UConn team had a pressure comeback in them. Good job in the 4Q.

I've really liked what UCLA has done the second half of this season, and my opinion of Close has gone significantly up.

Still, UConn's slim chances of a NC are almost zero unless KLS returns to at least high school form.

Die hard UConn fan here. Easy to see they aren’t as good as they used to be. But I am actually really proud of that 4th quarter. Dangerfield was awful for three quarters but really stepped up in the last. They showed some toughness.

Congrats to UConn! The better team won. Which was what I was afraid would happen. Good luck to the Huskies the rest of the way. Personally, I've got you on my bracket to win it all.

Now then, as a UCLA fan, I'd like to declare that being shipped out east to UConn's bracket 3 times in the past 4 tournaments is enough times for quite a while. There are many other Pac-12 teams whom the tournament committee can select to play against UConn in UConn's own backyard. Ship the Beavs or the Cardinal or the Sun Devils out there next time, please. Let's give the Bruins a break for a bit. Thx.

Well, the usual comments from the uconn haters. Always good to read their sour grapes.

I'll wait til i get confirmation from the replay at home, but 2 things stood out- ref Barlow sux, and Drummer is a chippy mother effer. Smile

Perhaps our pac12 friends will comment.

Just win the P12 (which you just might do next year) and I predict you won't be in Albany (or wherever is closest to UConn) next year. Very Happy

Drummer is definitely tough. And maybe of all players I can think of in the P12, she is the one I would least like to meet in a dark alley. (that said, she may actually be a total sweetheart, but she does play very very physical)
But I'm getting a kick out of the talk about the 'physicality' in the P12 since we used to always be considered softies.

What stood out to me is that UConn's a great team, with a great coach and great players, and that UConn deserved to win. And UConn did!

What also stood out to me-- as someone who admittedly doesn't view a whole lot of UConn basketball, 'cause I'm mostly just watching the west-- is the truly breathtaking level of blue-chippers Geno that has successfully put in his stable. I know that's not a novel observation but: sheesh! The Huskies only went 6-deep tonight, and of those 6, 3 were ranked #1 in their respective Hoopgurlz classes, and not one of them was ranked lower than #6. UCLA's highest-ranked player tonight (Drummer) was ranked lower (at #8 ) than UConn's lowest-ranked player tonight. Besides Drummer we played two recruits in the teens, two in the thirties, one in the 80s (Dean), and one unranked (Miller).

It's kind of amazing that my Bruins were even *in* that game, at all!

Recruiting is, of course, a huge part of this game, and Geno's better at it than anyone, and that's to his great credit. You gotta tip your cap, man! But tonight, looking at the raw talent that Geno's been able to corral, it was a bracing reminder of why UConn hardly ever loses. Honestly, it kinda makes me wonder why UConn ever loses, ever.
