Do we get more points for picking an underdog winner?

Do we want to do it that way? We could do it so that you get a number of points equal to the seed of the winner.

For example, if Towson slays UConn, and you correctly picked Towson, you would get 15 points.

I guess my only caveat is that it leads to chaos and people intentionally picking the underdogs in say, 5-12 match-ups as you would get more points for picking one right 12 seed, than two right five seeds. I tend to prefer doing it straight up, and doing one point per matchup and those who take risks can be rewarded.

I'm open to discussion on that. The other thought I had was to value each round more. For example, in Round 2, each correct pick is worth two points, the Sweet Sixteen, three, and then the Elite 8, four, and so on, but that could prove chaotic as well.

Or you can join our ESPN bracket group

Yes, I was intending for this to be done in addition to the bracket group. The main difference being that you get to pick games for each round, regardless of how your bracket holds up.

Hmmm.....this OUGHTTA be interesting. IFFF Myrtle is kept from scandalous bribes to gain insider information, the way she usually rolls in these events. Razz

Might be fun, I'd say. One suggestion: keep the 'underdog'/lower seed win at a simple "2", instead of just "1" for the win. That way, the scoring remains simpler, I'd think.

I'll just say this. It seems weird to me that we're going with a scoring system that lets you get two points for a Spartan win over the Chippewas. In any case, may the odds be EVER in your favour.

Just a few minutes to go!

....or just 2 points if you picked (and GET) Towson over UConn! Razz Let's just call it the Socialist Version of bracket competition. Laughing

Hey, don't knock on Towson. They outlasted James Madison AND Drexel to win the CAA. Teams with worse records have given UConn trouble.
