Belmont just earned the first auto bid with a win over UT Martin 59–53.
Mercer beat Furman 66—63 in a squeaker.
Fordham rolled over VCU 62–47
ND blows Louisville off the court 97–77
Arkansas runs out of magic and falls to Mississippi State 101–70
Iowa flirts with Maryland then puts the hammer down and finishes them off 90–76
Stanford avenges their 40 point loss with a 64–57 win over the Ducks
Everybody's (well,almost everybody's) favorite Cinderella Quinnipiac defeats Marist 81–51
Connecticut stuns the world with a win over UCF 66–45
Like a cat with a mouse, Baylor toys with Iowa State, then finally finishes them off 67–49
Zags dodged a bullet with St. Mary's but couldn't avoid the mauling by the BYU Cougars 82–68. Zags lost 4 games this year - ND, BYU, BYU and BYU
In the battle for supremacy in the Mount Rushmore state, the South Dakota State Jackrabbits start out slow but finish strong beating the Coyotes 83–72
DePaul digs a 13 point hole, then digs itself out and beats Marquette 74–73
The Wyoming Cowgirls were unseated by the Boise State Broncos 68-51
Eastern Washington (EW) led most of the game. Portland State broke a tie with 4 seconds in the game. EW called a TO with 3 seconds left in the game, then another with 2 seconds left and another with one second left. They missed a buzzer beater and Portland State wins.
Hartford dug a 0-10 hole, clawed back to within 2 in 3rd quarter, but ran out of gas and the Maine Bears finished them off 68–48
It was close for about five minutes, then Buffalo shuffled off to a 77–61 win over Ohio.
Little Rock win a squeaker 57–56 over South Alabama, who had two shots at the basket in the final minute, but failed to connect.
Towson defeats Drexel 53–49 to earn their first ever bid to the Big Dance.
Southern was behind much of the first half but took a lead and held for all but a few seconds in the second half to win 45–41. Not a stellar offensive performance, hitting less than a third of their shot attempts.
Hawai'i had a 17 point lead at one time, but UC Davis came back to win 58–50
Bethune-Cookman was behind much of the game until halfway through the third period when they took the lead and extended to a 57–45 win over Norfolk State to earn their first ever NCAA bid.
It took double overtime, but New Mexico State beat Texas Rio Grande Valley 76–73
Rice fell behind by double digits, and didn't take their first lead until late in the third quarter, but they won going away 69–54 over Middle Tennessee.
Bucknell started out strong, let American catch up, but then took a lead they'd never relinquish, albeit with some fingernail chewing moments) and won 66–54.
Radford started slowly, then went on an 18–2 run to finish the second quarter and cruised to a 57–45 win.
Robert Morris took a lead in the first quarter they would never relinquish. Although the Red Flash would cut the margin to one early in the third quarter, and to two points midway through the fourth quarter, the Colonials won going away 65–54.
Florida Gulf Coast opens up a 30 point lead over Liberty, then coasts to a 72–49 win.
Ranked Drake was favored to win, and the game was close through much of the first half, but Missouri State used 30 points from Alexa Willard to win easily 94–79, and steal a bid from the bubble.
Princeton was behind at the half, and a little more so at the end of the third quarter, but halfway through the 4th quarter, turned it up and won 65–54.

Just over half, 17 of the 32 teams are repeats from 2018, while 15 did not dance last year. Three teams were two years removed from the tourney, two were three years removed, two more last danced in 2014, one each were last in the tourney in 2011, 2010, 2006, 2005 and 1996. Okay, since you started this thread, you should update the first post with all the tournament winners as they come in. So for now....

70% success rate for #1 seeds after 10 conference finals. VCU, Maryland and Oregon the ones to falter.

I have a bad habit (actually, many, this is but one of them) of taking something silly and carrying to an extreme. In that vein:

When I posted the first auto bids, I noticed that the most recent year in the tourney was an even number in each case. Not particularly surprising, given that the most common entry is last year, so many are very likely to be even.
When I first posted, there were only three entries with a year other than 2018, so there is roughly one chance in eight that they would all be even as well. A modest number, but hardly earth shattering.
Then I took a look at the Mountain West, which at the time had reached the quarters. All four teams remaining had been to the NCAAs most recently in an even year, and only one was 2018. That team happened to win, but I thought it was mildly interesting that, no matter what happened, the winning team would continue the string.

That won’t be the case with the conference ending Friday.
In the Big Sky, Portland State faces Eastern Washington. Portland State was last in the tourney in 2010, while Eastern Washington was last invited back in 1987. I’ll go out on a limb and predict that Portland State will continue the string.
In the America East, Hartford, most recently in the tourney in 2011, faces Maine, who was in the tourney last year.
Again, I’ll pick Maine to defeat Hartford, which is not who I’ll be pulling for, as I am a Hartford season ticket holder.

Portland State was a 12 point favorite, so I wasn't worried but EW led most of the way and had a 7 point lead with a little over 5 minutes to go. The score was tied at 59 when Portland State scored with 4 seconds left. I didn't watch the game, but the play by play says that EW called 3 TOs in the last three seconds.
I've seen 2 called, especially if there is difficulty with an inbound, but don't ever recall seeing 3 called in three seconds with time elapsing between each one.

Or maybe not. the P-B-P now shows a TO at 3 seconds and another at 1 second, but not a third.

Big West Hawai'i 15–15 7th 2016
Espn has UCD as the winner?

As per Rebkell gameday discussion UC Davis prevails, 58-50, as Hawai'i goes more than 9:00 without scoring in the 4th quarter.

In a minor statistical oddity, the 20 of the first 21 teams who have punched a ticket so far were last in the NCAA tournament in an even-numbered year. Towson won; their previous time was "Never". Is "never" and odd or an even number? A conundrum.

"Never" could be equated to the number zero, which is an even number.

UC Davis beat Hawaii 58-50 for the auto bid. Outstanding finish of the season for Hawaiii considering the leading scorer quit a few weeks ago.

Someone on Wikipedia posted Hawai'i as the winner - I glanced at the boxscore - Hawai'i was leading but I missed that it wasn't a final score. I caught the error, and corrected on Wikipedia and here.

You’ve been going by Wikipedia? ESPN is much more reliable.

ESPN doesn't identify the number of appearances or the year of the last appearance.

Wikipedia is often in good shape, largely because I do the updates, but this was done by someone else, and I didn't look carefully enough.

You still have Hawaii down as the winner.

I have guests showing up in minutes, so definitely won't have a timely update of the Ivy league. May have time for MVC nope they just arrived.
