Pretty embarrassing capitulation by Nadezhda in their final group game, to the extent that you wonder if they preferred falling into the EuroCup over being the sacrificial lambs against Kursk in the ELW quarters. Although the players and minutes don't really suggest that they intentionally got crushed.

Big win for Sopron on the road to turn 4th into 2nd and get a vastly easier quarter-final matchup.

Its not like Kursk have been playing all that great against smaller teams though..

Nadezhda was pretty poor today and even though they weren't playing Nicholls that should not affect their offense.

The Chinese Basketball Association website is down so I will have to wait to get the stats, but both series ended in sweeps.

All the videos on that page read as a 500 Internal Server Error for me, rather than showing the usual YouTube countdown boxes. No idea why.

They're working for me (well... as much as they can "work" when nothing is actually being shown yet)

Fenerbahce in the process of proving that packing your roster with Americans doesn't necessarily produce great results. Plum/Hartley/Vaughn/Stokes (plus Vardali, Verameyenka, Zandalasini) getting beat again by Alyssa Thomas, Izzy Harrison and a cast of Euros.

They play so many damn group games only to end up with these often wildly one-sided quarter-finals. All seems a bit silly.

It pains me to say this as a Liberty fan, but signing three bench players/marginal starters off an 11th place team probably isn't smart. Plum is not a star either. Also, I've never been impressed with Valérie Garnier as a coach.

Probably still marginally better than the old 15 out of 21 teams qualify for the next round format.

Fener will be an interesting soap opera for the rest of the season. Keeping multiple foreigners on ice every game could prove difficult to manage, but they may need all options available to navigate the playoffs.
