I feel Parker, Ogwumike & Gray are untouchable. It's still likely to be Vadeeva or Lavender plus some picks to Dallas.

If they’re untouchable it might be no deal. Cambage can sit.

Hallelujah!! I was mildly afraid that she would leave for Dallas as she seemed to like Coach Agler. |

Toler is the one she loves. Toler’s the one that took a chance on Beard when everybody else thought she was done.

Was 99% sure she'd return. Just a matter of signing Gray now. And that whole possible Cambage trade nonsense.

Actually of the three Parker is the most expendable. She is at the end of her career and needs to much time between games to recover. She has some really good games but is very inconsistent. In respect to who who's games would blend better with Cambage- that would be Gray ( being a point ) and Parker who had a two man game going with Nneka. Cambage would just replace the role that Nneka played in the half court with Parker. The team often plays better without Parker. But her reputation is what is protecting her.
Dallas might be forced to accept anything close to reasonable because if Cambage sits of just doesn't return they end up with nothing. With Skylar out for the year they are in total tank mode. Can they afford to throw away the loss of ticket sales for one season. That would certainly happen if they didn't put a half way decent team on the court. They are not a NBA team who has a lot of financial wiggle room to afford to tank a season.

Which would be why, hypothetically, it becomes a three-team trade. Parker goes home, Cambage goes where she wants, and between the two of them they come up with enough for Dallas to play ball.
But the old cliche is that a three-team trade is a no-team trade, because with that many moving parts involved things tend to fall apart. |

Parker is a point-forward, so the thought of her being paired up with Cambage is pretty scary to me.

You must be a Sparks fan, because taking crumbs for Cambage isn’t a better alternative than making the Sparks a behemoth dynasty. You might want to lay out your definition of reasonable in this case, so we understand where you’re coming from.
If Dallas doesn’t get an acceptable offer, I say call Cambage’s bluff and see if she’ll actually sit. I don’t think she really wants to sit. If she wanted to sit, she would just not show up like she’s done in the past. She asked for a trade, so she wants to play in the WNBA. I think if she sits, her overseas value takes a hit.

I’d bet big money that she doesn’t miss the whole season. I might even bet a little money that she misses very little time. Diggins looks huge right now and it’s only early February.

What’s with the dramatics? “Accepting anything ‘reasonable’” in trade for Cambage is gonna fill the seats up?

Still think it is going to be Cambage for N. Ogwumike (if it is anything at all).
Parker/Cambage would be very exciting to make a new splash with a more showtime kind of Sparks (Parker/Ogwumike has run it's course) throw in Gray, Sims, and Beard that is an impressive starting line up.
Free Nneka! time for her to be the star of a team up front, she has Texas ties, N. Ogwuike and Diggins-Smith, with GloJo, Stevens, A. Gray, Thorton and the #5 pick is still a competitive team, with Agler at the helm they could even do better than last season.
Both teams win (as long as Camabage stays on board for a few years).

I think Nneka for Cambage might work, providing that both Cambage and Parker play at least a few more years. Cambage and Vedeeva in the post and Gray and Sims outside with Parker everywhere would be an a though team to beat. Gray would get more out of Cambage than Diggins ever did because she not only is a better passer but is more inclined to pass. Diggins likes to score. Gray and Cambage would make a lethal combination for as long as Cambage decided to play. I would still want the Sparks to trade Lavender for perhaps a lock down defender to take Beards place. I think this will be a year when her decline really becomes noticed. It started to show last season. I could tell the difference.

I'm in the boat where I don't think a trade gets announced until we know if Ionescu is entering. Might be a draft day trade. Could be a three way trade between LA, Vegas & Dallas.

Feel like this is an indication that they're not planning on signing Williams.

I dont think LA can really afford Williams after re-signing Sims and hopefully Gray to a max contract. I like this signing. TRP will fill Carson's shoes nicely.

Agreed. This is a solid replacement for Carson. I think TRP is better defensively and Carson is better offensively, so somewhat of a toss-up as far as I'm concerned. |

So she’d have similar characteristics to Beard? When Beard comes off the court, you can bring in the thrift store version.
