Ohhh, my. That TN/Vandy game was a (dark) shadow of what Once Was.

The first minute 'bout scared me: TN can't score on 19 O-boards in the first possession, and then a wee-bitty Vandy player gets a breakaway--2 TN guards run away from her, and she MISSES the layup. Shocked Shocked

<sigh!> At least TN pulled it out. Crying or Very sad

It's that damned arena, I tell you! I've said it for years. It's all set up wrong, with the coaching boxes on the end lines. Of course if it really favored Vandy, Steph White would be winning all the time...but.....

Always happy to see Mizzou take a licking. Administered last night by LSU, 61-51. It wasn't a particularly pretty game, but highlighted Mizzou's usual style of play, with Sophie fouling out as usual.

Thanks. I had faith.

Interesting stat point: BOTH teams shot exactly the same FG percentage--.429% on 27 of 63 FGs Shocked Here, FTs made all the difference.

South Dakota shut out Omaha 29-0 in the first quarter last night.

Minnesota held off an Indiana rally 61-57 to win their third straight. Patberg left early in the 3rd after falling on her shoulder.

St Mary's 78 BYU 75 Final

Australians Megan McKay (19 points in 22 minutes) and Jasmine Forcadilla (3 Free throws in the last 15 seconds) led the Gaels to the victory. This is BYU's third consecutive loss after going 9-0 in the first half of the WCC schedule.

Did BYU have a major injury? Or was their schedule just much easier in the front half? StMary's have been a tough team in the past but seemed to be having a down year this year.

The South Dakota game was 50-6 at half, and 71-13 at the end of 3. Freshmen and subs played the whole fourth quarter, which is where the Omaha starters scored 20 points, for a final score of 78-33. Interesting game to watch, especially the first quarter...

they say canceled but I'm sure it means postponed...unless Washington has agreed to give ASU the W.

I'm reading that it is in fact canceled and the game will not be made up. The Huskies might as well forfeit because the game should not be played this weekend and hopefully ASU is already home. The snowfall from this past Sunday quickly turned to ice. Main streets are clear right now, but when it snows in Seattle, it doesn't stay snow. During the day, it turns to slush, and overnight the slush becomes ice. I think it's unlikely we actually get the predicated 6" of snow in the city, but I do think we will soon be covered in ice.

LSU ran all over Arkansas, 71-34. The last couple of times I've watched LSU they've looked better and better. More team play and better execution. That's usually how they have been later in the season. But then, they *were* playing Arkansas who are awful no matter how you cut it.

well they did beat Tennessee. And they've pretty much beaten all the bottom dwellers in the SEC so I wouldn't call them totally awful.

Utah had momentum, but made some stupid choices in the end game

JMU went to Boston and beat Northeastern on their home turf, which is what my dad would have called a "peewhistle" gym, 58-51. It was kind of an ugly game, especially the 1Q when nobody seemed to be able to hit the basket, but things settled down after that. JMU has done a pretty good job of shutting down Northeastern's top scorer, Jess Genco, this year (that child bears a disconcerting resemblance to Kristy Curry only with long hair). Unfortunately the feed shut down with 6 seconds and change left on the clock, which was about par for the whole feed.

Utah's loss to USC is their 3rd straight after going 7-1 in their first 8 Pac 12 games. The game Sunday vs UCLA becomes very important for both teams as they are both in the NCAA tournament now but a loss will put them closer to the bubble.
