So if and when Maya returns, it will not be as a free agent in any form, no matter the state of the CBA.

Well unless they make significant unexpected changes, she won't be a free agent due to the rules I went into before. But she could be out of contract - because she might not necessarily only take one year off, or there might not be a league to play in in 2020.

It's a surprise when anyone changes teams

Good pickup for the Merc. She can given them solid minutes at the three. Solid defender. Decent to good shooter. Sparks are going to miss her, especially as she was our only "true" 3.

Peters is signed to a training camp contract, which I interpret as they are hoping for better.

I'm thinking more of a Dantas replacement candidate. Good signing. Very Happy

She creates the pace we desire to play with at the offensive end while spearheading our defensive pressure. Jas has been a cornerstone of the team since my arrival and has played a big part in the resurgence of the Sun franchise.”

Was just thinking that it's interesting that these releases always say 'Per team policy, no terms were announced'. So not per League policy, officially speaking. So could one team arbitrarily just start telling us everything, and put in the release, say, 'Thomas signed for three years, 115k in the first, 117k in the second, and 119k in the third'? It'd be fun if one of them just took the lead like that, and then interesting to see what the reaction would be.

Sigh... So this was today's big signing?!?!? Pretty lame free agency. The most exciting move has been Essence Carson to Phoenix. I guess the big Cambage trade, if and when it happens, will be the big move this off-season.

good 4 her. She was a really good college player. I assume she's been playing overseas and doing well?

Today is boring. Then again, today is also the one-year anniversary of the announcement of the Storm acquiring guaranteed Finals appearances and the right to become the greatest dynasty in WNBA history from Minnesota for only 2nd round pick. Mad

Per ESPN: "Walker is currently playing in the Turkish League for Mersin. She is averaging 16.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.4 assists while shooting 58 percent from the field."

So, I mean, not too shabby.

Mersin is currently 6th in the Turkish League with a 9-7 record.

Her injury was originally reported as an ACL but changed to a MCL. I think it is it in the Aussie off season thread.

Godd for her. If Prince & Zellous go elsewhere, one of them probably stands a chance to make the roster. Just odd that's our only two signings. Would prefer it be Zahui B & Boyd.

You do realize that, if Reeve truly wants the Storm dynasty to endure, there is still one more aspect of last year's trade that she needs to enact. She needs to swap first round picks with the Storm. Come on! Do it for Howard and her quest for history!

Nah, this draft is one where the #12 pick could end up being just as good, or better, than the #6 pick. Razz
I'd be more fine with the Lynx sucking if Reeve didn't decide to turn the Storm into the greatest dynasty in the history of the WNBA too by making sure Bird, Howard, and Stewart all end up with more titles than the Lynx could manage with Maya Moore. Since the Lynx had enough money and playing time for her last year, and especially this year, the only logical point would be if last offseason would've been Reeve deciding to start tanking early, so instead of keeping good players, she allowed them to go to teams where they can win as favors, except now Seattle will probably end up with more titles than the Lynx and the Lynx may never win again.

How’d you get so good?

Having the #6 pick just means you have more players to chose from and are more likely to make a mistake than you would at #12.

Of course, there’s always a chance the first five let somebody really good slip down to #6. Just for that, it’s worth keeping.

At least Amber Stocks turned quality player, but not MVP-Caliber Superstar Who Leads Teams to the WNBA Finals Every Year, Imani McGee-Stafford, into Superstar Diamond DeShields. Smile
Someone is going to be mad at me for turning this thread into a Lynx/Mock Draft/Other thread again if I go any further. Smile
