Can Tennessee make it 7 in a row?

Or what does it say about LSU if they can't?

Some Tenn player got called for an unsportsmanlike foul for dragging down an LSU player from behind by the shoulders and Peck and Ward manage to work in a WWE pro wrestling reference about it being a takedown worthy of The Undertaker.

Rinse and repeat. That's the third review and call of unsportsmanlike foul, this one on LSU. You'd think a brawl was occurring, when all of this stuff was mostly of the "**** happens" variety.
The officials have made a farce of this quarter.

Three minutes later and there is another unsportsmanlike foul called on LSU.
Personally I agree with the announcers that this one was a bad call.
They said the three long conferences for unsportsmanlike fouls IN ONE QUARTER OF PLAY have totalled 17 and a half minutes of dead time.
Hope you added some extra time to your DVR schedule.

Ugly. Tenn up by 7 at half, but as we know, they could lose that in about 60 seconds. Can they play 4 quarters?

Largely irrelevant. Tenn and LSU played a quarter. The officials played a quarter. Now Tenn and LSU will get to play 2 quarters...maybe.

Yeah, against a decent team. Against this LSU squad you probably need to allow three or four minutes.
LSU has 15 turnovers in the first half.

I watched the first half of the game on replay last night. I'd have stayed up for the second half but I was really sleepy. Just a couple of observations. Disclaimer: I'm still a strong Tennessee fan, but not the rabid one I once was; a little distance makes a difference.
1. A team made of mostly freshmen and sophomores is just not going to play like a team of mostly upperclassmen, and it's foolish to expect them to. You'll get outbreaks of outstanding play, but in general they are a work in progress. If the senior leader goes down, they can really be hurting; it's almost impossible for anyone to lead from the bench.
2. Post players develop more slowly than other players. In general, they are still getting used to their height, and the bigger they are, the more difficult it is for them. So it is with Kushkituah--she is a BIG girl, although she's dropped some poundage, and she's still having some problems learning how to use her size. By this time next year she should be pretty formidable. I saw some flashes of how good she can be.
3.There was some weird and questionable reffing. But when isn't there? That unsportsmanlike call against LSU where the player hit Burrell in the face may not have been called unsportsmanlike at all had Burrell not been so obviously hurt. But she was hit and hit hard, and she didn't have time to get out of the way. That's just the way it rolls. I've seen it called both ways from where we sit right next to the floor here.

Maybe they should start adding entertainment during the dead time. Get a guy on a trampoline making acrobatic dunks. Get two teams of 8 year olds to play five minute quarters during the stoppages.
