What I heard was 4 straight wins preceded by 42 straight losses

I thought I counted five, but I could be wrong.

LVs haven't lost 4 straight since 1970! Down 13 in the 4th though.

Holly maybe needs to get on her motorcycle and ride off into the sunset.

Pitiful. Until Davis decides to come to play (0 pts) and the entire team gets in the gym and puts up shots (38%), this team is going nowhere.

The last time the LVs lost four in a row, they fired coach Joan Cronan after the season

Sad state of affairs in Knoxville

Rennia Davis has also been utterly pitiful this season

Cannot understand her playing KK the whole game unless Green is injured. KK is just not ready. It takes 2 years to develop most post players and KK is only a sophomore.

ROLL TIDE!!!

After the close losses to South Carolina & Auburn and the bad loss on the road to TAMU, it's nice to be back in the win column. I know the LVs aren't the same LVs they used to be, but they were ranked at the time of the win last night, and 5 wins in a row over any team is amazing, especially a storied program like Tennessee with so many highly ranked recruits.

Congrats Coach Curry, staff, and especially this team!

when i watch Tennessee, they have too much talent to be playing so poorly, only player worth watching is Westbrook. she improved alot from last year as a freshman. but the other freshmans from last year like R. Davis didn't improve...its like she's playing dead. what is really going on at Knoxville?

Sounds like a coaching problem

If that's the case, then they need to change the coach.

Nicki Vargas would a good replacement, she has done good job with lesser talent at LSU.

I'd worry about her recruiting. LSU had five final fours in the eight seasons before she arrived, under three different coaches. For some reason she hasn't been able to attract top talent. Moving to a school that hasn't been to the F4 in over a decade isn't likely to improve that.

Part of Tenn's problem is simply inexperience. There are a boatload of freshmen mistakes every game, and a sophomore has to take the team on her back every game. Of the other 2 sophs, Davis has disappeared, and KK gets injured every time it looks like she's progressing. That leaves Srs Jackson and C Green, since Brown went out with an ACL before the first game. It's hard to overcome that level of inexperience.

Having said that, the single biggest problem in these four losses is poor shooting. Thursday's game against Alabama was one of their worst games of the season, shooting 33.8% with 17.4% from behind the arc. You can't win when you can't throw it in the ocean. The other three losses were by a total of 8 points when they left a total of 29 points at the FT line. Team FT shooting is 67% for the season and 62% for these last 4 games. You can't win when you throw away FT opportunities like that.

The whole freaking team needs to get in the gym and put up shots, from bunnies to 3-pointers. And Jackson needs to get in some other players' faces and tell them to get it in gear.

I said the same thing to someone who was blowing that horn on Facebook. There was a big ole discussion about various coaches on Pat's tree, with several talking about Nikki and some about Kellie Harper. Kellie kinda bombed when she went to NC State, but that was a bunch of years ago and she's done a pretty decent job at Missouri State in a conference dominated by Drake. Whether she's ready to step up might depend on who she hired as assistants. Pat always said she was the smartest player she ever coached and also that she wouldn't be surprised to see her back at Tennessee one day. However, I've been watching Nikki McCray-Penson at ODU. She got some good training on Dawn Staley's staff and when she got to ODU she was left with practically nothing. She's already shown that she can recruit as well as make the best of what she's got. I think she might be a very good bet, although I don't know if she'd want to leave ODU just yet.
