I think the site's been having some issues. I use it a decent amount and I've seen quite a few times lately where it just hangs with the message "Please wait while the data loads". Not sure if this is the issue Homyonkel's referring to, but if you keep trying, it does tend to load everything eventually.

Thanks Matt. That's exactly what is happening. I'll keep trying.

5 pac 12 teams....you know they're going to beat each other up...I think each team will loose at least one game in conference, some of them 2 games....

Add in USC, Arizona (who is looking better than expected), UCLA (who is down but still dangerous) and you have a very competitive race. I suspect 15-3 will be good enough to get a share of the title, and 8-10 should make the NCAA tournament.

You forgot Utah. Dre'Una Edwards is one of the best freshmen in the nation. Arizona will rise and fall on McDonald who is #2 in the nation in scoring.

USC will face its only preseason test Wednesday against Texas A&M.

Missouri is just not very good and Cunningham is a fine college player, but won't amount to much at the next level. They have no post presence and despite folks saying the SEC is down, I think Mizzou will still struggle in the conference with lack of rebounding and rim protection. They miss the Porter kid.

So with the upsets, I guess Maryland and NC State will continue to move up, even though they haven't played anybody. (now that we know So Caro is a nobody this year). It's possible that Maryland even goes undefeated in B10 play. That probably would equal a #1 seed and whoever is the #2 seed in their bracket will have a big smile on their faces.

With the Oregon win over Mississippi St., curious how that'll shake up the top 10. Maryland #4, Oregon #5, Stanford #6, Mississippi St. #7, Baylor #8, ?

I don't know why Stanford would be behind Oregon after 2 top 10 wins in a week and with Oregon's one loss being much worse than Stanford's.

They might end up that way, but they shouldn't.

Well Stanford was behind Baylor even after beating them. Not sure why that would change. You could say Baylor's loss wasn't as bad as Stanford's loss for instance. I think there's a bunch of teams you could just pull straws for their placement in the top 10.

Others receiving votes: Virginia Tech 59, Florida State 52, Utah 32, Miami 23, Arizona 15, Indiana 11, South Dakota 7, Auburn 4, South Dakota State 1, Central Michigan 1

And lest you think that Maryland's loss to Rutgers might at least drop them in the coach's poll....think again. Which means one of three things: 1) they think a loss to Rutgers doesn't matter; 2) they had their votes in before the game happened; or 3) they were already on vacation and not paying attention to what was happening.

I thought UConn would still be 1 based on having beaten ND. There's a circle of 1 loss teams of UConn beat ND who beat Gonzaga who beat Stanford who beat Baylor who beat UConn.

But I'm more curious why any voters who have had ND ahead of Louisville would jump Louisville ahead of ND based on this week's results. Take Hayes Gardner of the Ames Tribune. Last week had top three of UConn, ND, LVille. This week LVille, UConn, ND. UConn has a loss, ND cruised to 2 routs, LVille had 2 much closer wins. I have no problem with UConn remaining ahead of ND, but if he thought ND was better than LVille last week, what happened in the last seven days to vault Louisville to #1 and over ND? Someone please explain. (Debbie Antonnelli jumped LVille over ND to 1 but dropped UConn to 5 which also seems absurd).

Fact is Louisville has played and beaten one ranked team, #16 Ky, while ND has beaten ##10, 14, 15, and 17.

If it's just record, might as well rank NCSt #1.

Another question. Why is Maryland ranked ahead of Gonzaga? Both have beaten one ranked team, but the Zags beat 8 Stanford while MD beat 21 SCar, and MD lost to unranked Rutgers while Gonzaga lost to #1 ND. So why is MD 5 spots higher?

I understand putting the best unbeaten at #1. I don't see the results of the previous week as the only thing to consider. I thought Maryland would stay in the top 10 based on still being considered the best Big 10 team. I don't agree; I had them 13 at best. As for being ahead of Gonzaga, I can still see that even though Gonzaga beat Rutgers. I would still pick Maryland over Gonzaga on a neutral court.

Then why hasn't unbeaten Louisville been ahead of one loss ND on those same voters' ballots for the past four weeks? And what exactly has Louisville done to make them the "best unbeaten "? How have they demonstrated they're better than NCST, or why isn't NCST at least #2? These same voters didn't consider record paramount in previous weeks. Why is it now?

Basically, I'd guess the reasoning is that prior to UConn's loss, it looked like "ND's only loss is to UConn who is usually #1 and undefeated." However, with UConn's loss, that kills that argument, allowing Louisville to jump ahead of ND in their eyes. FWIW, I would have voted Louisville #1 this week. It isn't really that important for two reasons. First, polls don't really matter in basketball. Second, ND and Louisville are playing Thursday anyway, so if ND is better than Louisville, then it would show and you could knock them down then.

As for Louisville vs NC St., that's a matter of history. Louisville went to the Final Four last year and returns their star player. NC State didn't.

I for one would like to point out that NC State is one of 4 Power 5 teams (Florida, Kansas and TCU being the others) that have yet to PLAY a ranked team.

Their schedule is so fluffy that it leads me to believe that their success up until now may prove to be a false-positive once the hammer of the ACC drops.

Marquette is now up to their highest ever rankings in program history (14 in coaches' poll and 15 in AP poll). I sure hope they don't immediately plummet now Smile. I think this week they moved up a lot not so much based on what they did but rather other teams falling quite a bit after losses.

Do you see a lot of difference between NCSt playing no ranked teams and Louisville playing ONE - number 16? That difference seems pretty minuscule, but then nobody is voting for NCSt as the #1 team in the country.

It's popular to trash Maryland's schedule, but Louisville's is no better.
