Arghhh. This is gonna be the theme song of Big 12 play, I'm afraid. Mad

Sooners won. Yay. Tech hasn't beaten them in a long time. But they must have played inspired ball to keep it close. I didn't see it, but....I wonder if the "ugly" came from 2 lesser teams playing, as opposed to Sooners playing UP for UConn....?

In the rest of the Big 12: Iowa State smashed K-State--I still think the Cyclones will end up no less than 3rd in the Conference.

UNLESS....TCU does something about it! I saw they knocked off (the previously ranked) WVU..... Shocked Tynice Martin had a merely mortal 10 pts for Carey's team, and their center had ONE shot attempt in 31 min. NOT a winning strategy.

This is the same West Virginia with their marquee win being over Pittsburgh and a whole lotta cupcakes?

oooh. TCU has me trembling with their wins over SMU, Montana State, and Ole Miss. If TCU is third in the BIG12, BYU is very pleased with that win.

TCU looked better than they have in recent times, but I would be very surprised if they finished higher than 5th in the B12.

Ya, TCU has a lot to prove yet, but those #3-#6 spots being big question marks just speaks to how weak the Big 12 is this year. And yet....there's Oklahoma's starting lineup fresh out of high school giving UConn a scare---proves that ANYbody can have a bad night and The Mighty CAN fall.

If I hadta put $$$ on it, I'd give 3rd place to Iowa State. Will be interesting.

I believe that Iowa St is a solid third right now and Kansas is 4th. TCU, West Virginia and maybe Oklahoma or Oklahoma St look like the next tier, with Kansas St and Texas Tech pulling up the rear.

B10 so frustrating with their friggin flohoops contract. My takeaway: Basically they don't want anyone to watch their games. that MSU at Northwestern would have gotten my attention.

Michigan State about to go down to the Wildcats, Gustafson going off for 26 and 16 as Iowa looks to escape Nebraska.

Denver tied with South Dakota 50-50 at the half. Penn State steals one from Wisconsin in Happy Valley.

Florida State barely escaped Virginia. Alabama was down by like 20, but they should escape the Gators.

South Dakota's bubble is in danger. Denver leads 64-59 with under 3 in 3Q.

That one really was an attention getter! A nail biter down to the last minute.

Big Ten has started off a whole lot less predictable than in most prior years. Not one of the four ranked teams has survived the first week or so without picking up a loss.

Nova @ Creighton high scoring affair 30-29 at half. But at least it's competitive:

ASU at Utah is nip and tuck. The Ute Frosh don't understand they're supposed to lose.

Richardson for ASU makes a last 1/2 second shot for the win.

riley richardson banks a straight-on 18-ft.er at the buzzer to give ASU a 65-63 win at Utah. (myrtle wins too)

wahoo. I needed that. Totally didn't expect Utah to be that tough.

so what is a very basic thing every kid learns in grade school? How to block out the FT shooter. Cal fails to do so... and deserves to lose.

and they go to OT.

Pac 12 seemed to demonstrate considerable "Parity" tonight, it'd seem:

USC is challenging Stanford as I write this, down only by 5.
Oregon was only up by one on U-Dub at the half.
Wazzu almost caught Oregon State, losing by single digits.
#18 Cal loses to UCLA in OT.
#22 Arizona State barely squeaks by Utah on a last minute luck shot.
AZ also sneezes past CO by a 2 pt margin.

Don't remember the last time I saw this kind of thing in ANY conference's play--top to bottom--on a single night. Shocked

agree. too much parity. too scary.

and if these friggin injuries to Tudor and Fingall turn out nasty, that leaves Oregon as the only top team unscathed...so far. I still wanna know why Dodson didn't play tonight.

The announcers said Dodson had a foot injury and was in a boot, but someone on the Cardboard saw her without a boot rebounding for her teammates in 2nd half warmups. So hopefully it's not bad.

No boot on Dodson for sure. Whatever it is, I doubt it is too serious. They slap a boot on anyone who has a hangnail these days. Dodson was walking well without a boot. I think back next game or next week at the latest just based on that. No idea what happened to Fingall. Looks like she hurt a knee badly but came back after being in the locker room a while, played and looked fine, then went down again in a bit of a scrum and hurt it again or something.

JMU went down to Newark and stomped on the Delaware Blue Hens last night, 68-43. The game was actually less close than that, as the back benchers played most of the last quarter and looked like, well, the back bench. Delaware is in bad shape right now, with their best player, Nicole Enabosi, and their prize recruit, Lolo Davenport, both being out for the year with injury.

Albany leads Vermont 16-12 at the half. Vermont led 12-10 after the first quarter but was held scoreless by Albany, who "dominated" the second quarter 6-0.
