Assuming ND beats Lehigh Sunday (With all due respect to Lehigh, I'd list that as "very probable"), it will be McGraw's 900th career win.
The funny thing is that it would be against the team where she had her first 88 wins (She was coach at Lehigh from 1982-87).
Her 900th win will be in just 1,172 games. It'll be the 4th fastest that a Women's Basketball coach has attained 900 wins. The other 3 are the "usual suspects:"
Geno Auriemma 1,034 games
Pat Summitt 1,072 games
Tara VanDerveer 1,104 games
She's 5th among active coaches in wins (behind VanDerveer, Auriemma, Hatchell, and Stringer). She's currently 8th all time (Behind, Summitt, VanDerveer, Auriemma, Hatchell, Stringer, Foster, and Conradt), although she'll move up to 6th with just 4 more wins.
BTW, the numbers are similar overall for winning percentage. She's 6th among active (behind Auriemma, Mulkey, Smesko (FGCU), VanDerveer, McLaughlin (Penn). She is still 8th among all time, though (behind Auriemma, Barmore, Mulkey, Summitt, Smesko, VanDerveer, Sheahan (Mt. St. Mary's). In case you were wondering why McLaughlin didn't make the 2nd list, it's because it has stricter guidelines (10 years at Div 1 instead of just 5).
