What about those Rust Bearcats!? Don't say I didn't give you fair warning...
Unfortunately some of my other picks just lost in squeakers that squawked the wrong way in the last minute. |
Keimeshia Walker never played like that at CS Fullerton or Alabama State

Nice pick Myrtle. I wanted to find out more about Rust but time didn't allow for it.
Because of Christmas all of next weeks games will be on Friday, December 28 and Saturday, December 29. The games will be posted tomorrow or Thursday while I'm in Las Vegas, but picks won't have to be made until Thursday, December 27. This week's scores may be delayed because of my travels, but they should be up by the 27th, along with the next week's games

It was actually a bit hard to find out anything about Rust. But I knew they at least had a player who had played DI and she was scoring a lot of points. And that poor Alcorn St. was really bad. I assumed Alcorn would win but thought it would be a little fun to add a game like that.

Week 7 was the closest week yet with all 11 players having11-14 wins. The deciding game was Auburn - North Carolina. The game went to overtime before Auburn prevailed, and the 6 players that correctly picked the Tigers included the 2 winners and 3 of the 4 with 13 wins. (a lot of teams desperate for a win here. Hard to find a sorrier group of games. Also hard to give a flying flock about any of them. Lots of coin flips. Yikes. Howee may beat me badly – his coin seems to flip better than mine.)

I find it amusing that the person who gave us "Alcorn St - Rust" would say " Hard to find a sorrier group of games" Remember there were only 2 days to pick from and the whole slate, other than the start of the conference season in the Big 10 and Big East, was rather sorry. Maybe I was influenced by getting ready to see Western Illinois - Furman, Fairfield - UIC, and UTEP -Akron last Friday., which wound up being a very enjoyable day. Next week's games, which I will post tomorrow, will be more normal.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, Myrtle and all the rest of the players.

Didn't mean it as a snip at you! Looking at the games on those two days, it would be pretty hard for anyone to find much meaningful. I just realized that there are very few teams with winning records which makes it harder to a)pick and b) care. When I first looked at it, it kinda looked like a week to just skip, but it's all fun. And thanks for your efforts at keeping us going. Much appreciated.
And best wishes to y'all for the New Year too!
