Yeah, USA got off easy. Groups A & B are tough. The hosts don't get an easy pass.

Group A can end up any possible way, Nigeria is known to shake up their group. France should still win the group. Newcomers South Africa and Jamaica don't stand a chance in their groups.

Would love to see Jamaica advance, but they're such a longshot. They've never played anyone outside of CONCACAF. I think both Nigeria and Cameroon can shake things up in their groups.

They have played 5 matches versus CONMEBOL countries, winning twice and drawing once. Most of Jamaica's matches are world cup and olympic qualifiers.

A day after single game tickets went on sale, six matches are officially sold-out.

June 7: France vs. South Korea(opening match)
June 17: France vs. Nigeria
June 20: USA vs. Sweden
July 2: Semifinal #1
July 3: Semifinal #2
July 7: Final

Didn't think France could top Canada in ticket sales, but it looks like it'll happen.

USWNT gets $718,750 from LUNA Bar, making World Cup roster bonuses equal to men's

Quote:
The U.S. women's national soccer team got a helping hand in its pursuit to close the pay gap with the men's program thanks to a donation of nearly three-quarters of a million dollars from LUNA Bar.

The company publicly announced its donation Tuesday in conjunction with Equal Pay Day -- but Clif Bar & Company owners and co-CEOs Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford, and Ritu Mathur, senior director of marketing for LUNA Bar, flew to Tampa to present the gift to the team at a Players Association meeting on Feb. 19. U.S. Soccer was informed of the donation Monday night.

Women's World Cup 2019:
Carli Lloyd knows her moment will come again with U.S. women

Quote:
It's convenient to say Lloyd's signature moment arrived in the 2015 World Cup, but it isn't accurate. No single moment earned her the Golden Ball as the player of the tournament and catapulted someone who already had scored gold medal-clinching goals in both the 2008 and 2012 Olympics to a level of stardom few achieve. It wasn't the opening goal against Germany in the semifinal. It wasn't the goal from near midfield in the final, or even the first-half hat trick in that game against Japan.

It was all of it. Lloyd's moment four years ago stretched over days as she breathed oxygen into a smoldering U.S. attack.

Lindsey Horan fit for Women's World Cup, says coach Jill Ellis

Quote:
The reigning NWSL MVP and a finalist for 2018 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Horan has yet to play a full game for the U.S. in 2019 because of a quadriceps injury that kept her out of the national team lineup during the SheBelieves Cup in February and March and a hip injury that limited her more recently.

The way the knockout round is set-up likely makes it a France-USA quarterfinal. Kind of unfair and gives an edge to France.
