As an aside, Travis Lund wrote a few ACC team previews before his Week 1 recap:

My big ACC prediction is that Syracuse will finish 2nd above Louisville. They both have star guards, but Syracuse is deeper, bigger, and has better shooters outside of those guards.

I'm waiting to see whether anyone on Louisville other than Durr can score. Having Hines-Allen was important. I don't see a replacement. Being so dependant on one player is a major vulnerability against good opponents. I expect to see a lot of box-and-one when they play ND.

Louisville is still going to win nearly all their games and can probably beat anyone on a given day.

We will see if Duke's loss to Northwestern was an "anomaly."

His objectivity and analysis took a bit of a hit with me in this write up. I don't see how you can write honestly about the FSU loss to LSU without mentioning their scoreless second quarter. And if you're going to talk about Miami's prospects going forward, you have to mention the need for Mompremier to stay out of foul trouble.

And "McCallie has always excelled at synergy." I think when the team is less than the sum of its' parts, it's not called "synergy."

So this writer is saying Clemson's wins over Oklahoma, Illinois and Belmont were "blah" and then marveling at their wins over High Point and Rhode Island? Okay...

Nice write up of the top 2/3 of the ACC.

Duke now in the bottom third of the ACC. Can play their way up to the bottom half. That pretty much sums up where JPM's Duke is: playing UP to the bottom half of the ACC.

Basically any Clemson wins are a spectacular step up from their recent past. If they actually win some in league, that will be even more spectacular.

SO ...I lost a bet with Rock about how many wins Chicago would get this year. My punishment - T. Young as my avatar. Well it could be worse!
