non athletic mid major from a smallish city played before a large crowd just under 6000 of wild appreciative fans and goes on to win against Stanford 79-73.

fans were on their feet and were LOUD...

Zags had built an 18 point lead and the Cardinal came storming back with a lot of steals, plus some suspect reffing, and narrowed the gap to 3 at 3 different times....

but the Zags held tough with timely shots and good FT's plus a sizable rebound advantage...

stanford's Lexie Hull was out with injury and the Zags were missing a starter as well....

several stars from the the men's team, number one in the nation, were present as well as former Zag Jill Barta...

great day to be a Zag...

congrats on the win. The trees definitely have some weaknesses and your team shot very, very well. Good luck the rest of the season.

This is why good mid-majors have a hard time getting top level teams from playing on their court. Kudos to Tara for scheduling the game.

Man the Zags are like Kryptonite, we always have problems with them and it always seems to be especially hard to play in their house. Tara will use this to bring the team down to earth. Congrats to the Zags.

Never made the connection til now but the Zags' Wirth twins, Jennifer and LeeAnne, are the younger and taller siblings of former Vandy standout and previous WNBA guard Christina Wirth.
