Looking forward to this one. A great test for Gustafson.

Yes, this is a early season treat game. I will have one eye on this game and the other eye on the Saints/Cowboys game.

We might see how much of a stiff Gustafson is tonight.

ND may be at full strength for the first time this season (although Mabrey's minutes may still be limited.

Shepard is listed at 6'4 and Gustofson 6'3 on their rosters but Shepard looks small next to Gustafson, who didn't miss with the ball in her hands down low. She is playing soft on defense but that may be because they need her offense so much.

Is she available for a 5th year?

Notre Dame has gone on a 16-0 run as part of blowing this game wide open and now leads 63-37 in the middle of the third Q.

They've scored 18 pts in 4 minutes and 20 seconds of this Q, to three pts by Iowa (one 3 pt shot).

Wow. A 34-14 quarter.

34 is a lot to score in a quarter regardless of what your opponent scores. But to outscore them by 20. . . .

Final 105-71.
Ogunbowale goes for 30, Gustafson 26.

21 assists, 9 turnovers, 13 rebound advantage.

I thought Nixon was going to play tonight, but I don't think she did.

Interesting showcase of talents and coaching. Just what one might expect from a 1/14 matchup. Iowa did a lot things right (with the exception of limiting O-boards) but ND was clearly light-years ahead of them in key elements, such as defense.

Arike and Jackie are superstars. Brianna and Jess both did yeoman's work in both low blocks--and still Megan managed a healthy double-double. She's quite remarkable.

CAN'T.

WAIT.

FOR.

SUNDAYYY! Cool ND CERTAINLY looks ready.

She made a good accounting of herself, that's for sure.

I think she's still on concussion protocol. Hopefully she'll be ready for Sunday.

I think Shepard is over-listed more than normal. I don't think Wilson should be listed 6'4" and Shepard appears shorter than Wilson, although Shepard might have slightly higher shoulders. The 6'1" listed Collier on the far right comes out looking much better if you look at shoulder height versus the two 6'4" listed players next to her. The correct measurement to give for players would be vertical reach.

Here is the official listing of height and weight. The picture is from August, 2014, so maybe some of these players have grown. Smile

Code:

Front row:

8 Marina Mabrey 5-11 165

6 Destinee Walker 5-10 150

5 Receé Caldwell 5-8 135

4 Paris Kea 5-8 126

11 Mariya Moore 6-0 175

7 Ariel Atkins 5-11 155

Back row:

9 Brianna Turner 6-3 165

12 Beatrice Mompremier 6-4 180

15 Teaira McCowan 6-7 235

?? A'ja Wilson 6-4 190

?? Jessica Shepard 6-4 200

10 Napheesa Collier 6-1 173

On a side note, I know the front row is sitting but Kea doesn't look like the smallest player there.
