South Carolina is favored by 6 points. If home court advantage is say 3 points then the teams are pretty close, but Vegas does not agree with AP poll ranking, maybe flip the two teams.

Terps on an 11-0 run to prevent an early blowout. Trailing 18-17.

South Carolina is all about penetrating and getting point of transition. If I was coaching against them, I would play a zone and dare them to beat me from three.

Once Maryland slowed down a bit and forced SC to play offense in the half court, things changed dramatically.

Perhaps losing the #1 draft pick makes a wee bit of difference.

That should be obvious

Particularly when last year it was the #1 pick surrounded by journeymen. It's not like they have 2 or 3 other returning all americans or #1 recruits to pick up the slack.

I just haven't understood at all why people assumed they automatically would still be a NC contender this year.

Maybe some people thought Dawn could coach them up. When A'Ja Wilson was out some games last year with an injury, that team looked a team couldn't make the NCAASs.

Interesting enough.

I don't think it takes a crystal ball to determine that both teams will look much better by February, but I was a tad disappointed that it wasn't a bit closer. Q1 mighta been the most entertaining of the 4, given the dramatic comeback MD staged.

Shakira Austin definitely appears to be deserving of her #4 recruiting rank. Cool
(Can anybody refresh/update my memory on the B. Cuevas status--she's back, injured, what?)
