"for nearly a quarter century"

I thought that can't be right, but Wikipedia shows it running from 1969-1971 on CBS and then as a syndicated show from 1971 until 1993. It also came back on TNN in 1996-1997.

I never would have imagined that he was still alive. It was not a show I liked (big surprise) but I have so many great memories watching it with my grandparents growing up.

Amazing talent and always one of my favorites growing up. May his name be long remembered in the ports of Tennessee.
