Watching SF Austin @ Miami (FL) on ACCNE/WATCHESPN

End of 1st Q, Da U leads 22-16. Miami actually looks decent. Mompremier is a big addition. I've always liked Hof, and now she has some serious help in the paint.

-------------

4 minutes into the 2nd Q, Miami leads 30-22.
Chanell Hays has 15 of SFA's 22 pts.

At the half, Miami leads Stephen F Austin, 43-30.

The teams have combined for a whopping 31 three point shots in the first half, and both teams are hitting more than 50% of those shots.

They've also combined for 20 turnovers.

-------------------

Miami increases its lead to 62-40 after 3Q.

Miami beats SF Austin. Final score 81-60.

Miami has a lot of weapons, inside and out. They could be fun to watch.

Mompremier will be a major addition. Her minutes were limited because she got in early foul trouble, but she is very smooth and quick with the ball for her size and made some nice moves.

I think Miami's problem is at the pg. A common problem it seems these days.

In another early game, Dayton used a 24-11 4th quarter to escape with a win over Colgate at UD Arena, 67-58. The Flyers shot a woeful 11% (2-1Cool from 3-pt range.

In yet another early game, VCU went to 2-0 with a thrashing of Longwood, 84-55. The Rams will take that perfect record into Chapel Hill next Wednesday when they take on the Tar Heels.

On a side note, why were there so many 11 am, Noon, early afternoon tip-offs today? Did I miss something?

Arkansas dropped 98 on Northwestern State, running away with a 98-53 victory. I remember the days when NW State gave Stephen F Austin a run for their money in the Southland Conference.

How good is Arkansas this year?

Wake Forest 69
Mercer 54

Turns out graduating the best player and the best point guard in school history affected us. Who would have guessed?

Marquette 100
Montana State 52

This one was an easy Marquette win as expected. The big thing for MU was senior Danielle King scored her 1,000th career point. She was the 5th MU senior to do so making them the only Women's Div. 1 team with that honor currently. (I think I read Notre Dame has one player about 200 points away from 1,000 and then they would also have 5 1,000 point scorers).

Marquette has looked great since the bullets became live! I'm looking forward to the Notre Dame/Marquette game!

They have looked good so far but I think the lack of height and lack of depth is really going to hurt Sad. I think Tori McCoy would have made a big impact for this team but she's battling other things now of course - best wishes for her. I was confused as to why captain Sandra Dahling (the only senior who doesn't start) had changed numbers and then my daughter helped me put it together last night. She has switched to zero which is McCoy's number - I figured she did it for her.

Do you have tickets for the ND game yet? I think that one is going to sell out. There will probably be more people there cheering for ND that day though unfortunately Sad.
