Saw a news report that said those "I voted" stickers cost 10 cents a piece and because of that, there are a few places that have stopped handing them out. I took a "mail-in" ballot to a drop-off box in the library (there were a number of places it could be dropped off, including any polling place - could also be mailed on election day as long as post-marked that day and arriving by the 9th) and they had a roll of stickers sitting on the box for us to grab one.

From a Minnesota TV station, an article on the man behind the Gopher State's "I Voted" stickers and why he defends them.

I thought 10 cents a sticker didn't sound right:

Quote:
The total cost was about $24,000. When you crunch the numbers, a spokesperson with the Secretary of State’s office said three stickers cost a penny. The leftover stickers will be used during the 2020 Election.

In Chicago they went from stickers ($8,900 for an order of 2.5 million stickers ) to more expensive wristbands ($28,000 for 1.5 million) because businesses complained about having to scrape them off doorways and windows the next day.

Has she ever called for an end to immigration (which is almost all non-white). If not, she should be called a "very dumb white supremacist". Same thing for the Republican party, which also doesn't call for an end to immigration (or even a slowing of it or enforcement of immigration law). When the Democrats label them racists, they should be saying "very dumb racists", for supporting an unlimited amount of non-whites into the country while at the same time allegedly not liking non-whites. Although, there may be people who would call for an end to it if they weren't going to be vigorously attacked for doing so. And that isn't just "you are racist" attacks, as immigration is a sacred cow that will get defended on things like "what makes us great" and "you are an immigrant" (using a definition of "immigrant: anyone who isn't Native American").

46% of immigrants to the US are white, more than any other race.

Saying "very dumb racists" is redundant. It's like saying "very strong weightlifters" or "very corrupt politicians".

Well that sure kills "almost all", but still makes the majority non-white and confirms that large amounts of non-whites are coming into the country all the time. I see it as the #1 issue that a racist party and pundits would address, not the allegedly racist "must show ID to vote".

Seems like 46.1% only works if the Latin American immigrants (44.9% of total) are mostly considered white (11.9% of immigrants from Europe/Australia). Don't know about all of Latin America, but in Mexico, 47% consider themselves white, 21.5% indigenous, and 30% don't classify themselves (but likely mixed race which apparently wasn't a choice).

So according to their most recent update, fivethirtyeight considers the Democrats about even-money as to if they will end up netting 40 or more house seats. The last results from UT-4 put McAdams (D) ahead of Love(R) for, barring some strange happening, good. That moves the Dem's floor to 39. Then there is the CA-21 which is a true toss-up and GA-7 and NY-27 where there is still an outside chance.

Wow.

The narrative the press wants to use, that this was no "blue wave", is disproved by the fact that Dems may gain 35 seats, their biggest gain in 40 years, and that the Dem voting margin was +6%. Because of the republican re-districting in 2010, seats gained do not reflect that margin, which was larger than the much-ballyhooed Teabagger "revolution" in 2010.

Republicans suffered more than 300 lost seats in all elections nationwide. Scumbags Scott Walker and Kris Kobach were given the boot. The rust belt- those poor, downtrodden, forgotton Midwesterners, elected Dems for governor in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois.

This year's senate races strongly favored Republicans. That they gained a couple seats is no surprise. They'll be much more vulnerable in 2020. The fact that they squeaked out a win in dead red Texas is telling.

The democrat POTUS candidate has received more votes in 4 of the last 5 elections, yet has assumed the office only twice.

Wave on, wave on. Very Happy

Make that 39, and probably 40. Laughing

so much winning

40 Seats. But, it wasn't a Blue Wave.

So, this might actually change because...VOTER FRAUD. And what party do you suppose the one actually involved in the fraud belonged to? Oh, that's right, the GOP. For all their "concern" about fraud and how we need all these restrictive new laws to prevent it, the only election fraud perpetrated was something that none of these new laws would address, but that current laws do, and did.

So, North Carolina has refused to certify the NC 9th district, and as new evidence pours out it seems likely that a new election will be ordered. The Republican won this district by about 900 votes (including the fraudulent ones, though how many of those exactly is unknown). If a new election is ordered, all the same candidates remain on the ballot which means that the GOP is forced to run a tainted candidate.

Fivethirtyeight has now moved this race back into the "toss-up" category" and Nate Silver says that might be even generous to the GOP. Basically, the reason for the hedging is if something stops a new election, or the US House steps in and refuses to seat him, in which case a whole new special election with potential new candidates and new primaries etc, happen.

But, 41 seats is now a real possibility. LMFAO.
