Long line at voting site, which is highly unusual. We have a contentious governor's race between two terrible candidates, maybe that's what did it.

Great turnout here in rural Pennsyltucky, despite heavy rains. Go Blue! Cool

It’s a December-level cold and rainy day. I don’t know if it was that or a timing thing, but I had no wait for voting compared to 2016. I was disappointed to find out I wasn’t in the right district to vote slimeball Erik Paulsen out of office. All I would see on television several times a day were his negative Trump-style campaign ads.

Some good moments tonight, but the Republicans have a larger majority in the senate....so...not fantastic.

Jared Polis wins in Colorado to be the first openly gay governor.

Kim Davis rightfully loses in Kentucky.

Beyond that.......

Minnesota was a true blue wave in state wide elections. Klobuchar won in a landslide, as was expected since the GOP didn't challenge her at all, focusing all their attention upon Tina Smith running for Franken's old seat. But that too ended up being a landslide in Smith's favor. Add in the Governor's race and the Dems running away with what was being billed as a contested race, and it was a very good night.

And in my district, Angie Craig has beat the jackass Jason Lewis. As someone who worked on her campaign, it has been a very fun night, with a lot of partying to come!

The Blue Wave happened. Democracy breathes.

Let loose Adam Schiff on the Drumpf crime family.

Saw a news report that said those "I voted" stickers cost 10 cents a piece and because of that, there are a few places that have stopped handing them out. I took a "mail-in" ballot to a drop-off box in the library (there were a number of places it could be dropped off, including any polling place - could also be mailed on election day as long as post-marked that day and arriving by the 9th) and they had a roll of stickers sitting on the box for us to grab one.

The House flipping is a very bad thing for a very bad president that doesn’t want to reveal his tax returns to possibly expose conflicts of interest. It should also reinvigorate the Mueller investigation. What else?

I thought the Mueller investigation was free of partisan politics. They were saying after Kavanaugh got confirmed that if they won the house they would re-investigate him. The word "impeach" was used in regard to Kavanaugh, which must be the term for how they would remove him from the Supreme Court.

Mueller will not be free of partisan politics if the Acting Attorney General (after Jeff Sessions got fired) has anything to say. He's proclaimed that he will use his powers to obstruct this investigation and limit the scope.

The narrative the press wants to use, that this was no "blue wave", is disproved by the fact that Dems may gain 35 seats, their biggest gain in 40 years, and that the Dem voting margin was +6%. Because of the republican re-districting in 2010, seats gained do not reflect that margin, which was larger than the much-ballyhooed Teabagger "revolution" in 2010.

Republicans suffered more than 300 lost seats in all elections nationwide. Scumbags Scott Walker and Kris Kobach were given the boot. The rust belt- those poor, downtrodden, forgotton Midwesterners, elected Dems for governor in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois.

This year's senate races strongly favored Republicans. That they gained a couple seats is no surprise. They'll be much more vulnerable in 2020. The fact that they squeaked out a win in dead red Texas is telling.

The democrat POTUS candidate has received more votes in 4 of the last 5 elections, yet has assumed the office only twice.

Wave on, wave on. Very Happy

I swear this country has a shitload of white supremacists trying to hide in full view. Meghan McCain is a perfect example. If she was not a legislator's daughter, she would be riding a motorized wheelchair through the aisles in an Arizona Walmart, yelling at her kids to grab the Oreos and Diet Coke from the shelves.

The electoral college math might not be so kind to Trump this next time around.
