Are the Chicago Sky getting a new logo? It seems as if that's what's happening, at least at a minimum, on Wednesday?

All this teasing just for a new logo? And what's with the "new Dawn" suggestions?

Maybe it's a coaching announcement...

Because the team's name is the Sky. Once it's dawn the sky is no longer dark, or, there will be a new logo, and maybe other new things that are currently "in the dark".

I’m not sure how many of these are of financial benefit, but with all these marketing partners, you would think the Sky would be doing pretty well.

Why former Lady Vols guard Diamond DeShields didn't have time for anxiety as WNBA rookie

Quote:
“Coming out of college I had a rep and Amber didn’t buy into it,” DeShields said. “She gave me a chance. She gave me a clean slate.”

And now Amber is gone. Good moral to the story.

Wade's been one of the 'head coaches in waiting' among the WNBA assistants for a while. He's also got a nice-paying gig with UMMC in Russia so we'll see whether they're letting him keep that and work around it or if he's going full time in Chicago (assuming the rumour's true). He's also the Wade as in Edwige Lawson-Wade, for what that's worth.

Good.... no more gambles on bad French players for the Lynx.
Reeve might have to take a second job coaching overseas so she can start scouting players herself... or else just start watching YouTube.

A Dawn Staley hiring was being spread around on social media this week in regards to the "new Dawn" message. It was highly unlikely, glad to see a new hire instead of just a recycled coach.

When was the last time a currently employed women's college head coach left that position to take a pro job? Never mind one as high-profile and presumably well-paid as Staley.

French players? I can think of 3 Spaniards the Lynx have had, no French. I thought that Agler and Reeve and others already used the undying prospect of "European gold" as excuses to get paid vacations to Europe to watch them play.

No, it don't think it has to do with Wade, but with (what makes me infuriated) Reeve's perverted obsession with the starters AND needing as many ancient/useless vets as possible, at all costs, for the bench instead of putting ANY trust in younger players, because all that needed to be done last year was give Howard a max contract (and carve playing time for her) and give Montgomery a max deal right away (core?) before a team like Atlanta swoops in with better deal (and who cares if that'd make them the highest-paid players on the team, part of being a GM is knowing when to suck it up), then fill roster with a cheap signing, instead of trying to low-ball all the good non-main core players and losing them just so can sign ancient expensive vets like Wright who contributed no more than a cheap signing/Zandalasni/Jones committee would've. And the Lynx would've been so much better off last season and set for the future, but none of the local/WNBA media could figure that out, even though the past Lynx season was the stupidest thing I have ever seen in my life (and that's coming from a Timberwolves fan).

Endy Miyem. Lisa Berkani.

That's two within the last two seasons.

James Wade hasn't been officially announced. Maybe he wasn't available today?

Don't see where Stocks believing in DeShields has anything to do with her firing.
