First time since 2008 that we've had three first time 1st team All WNBA players

Pilight, where does the three to see stack up in terms of All WNBA honors compared to the top 3 picks in other years?

It's the only class in which all three of the top three picks have made 1st team All WNBA

But not the first class to have three picks make 1st team. 2001 had five 1st teamers.

Wow, Tiffany Hayes is only the 2nd Atlanta Dream player to earn All-WNBA honors.

Well, that makes official what was all but a formality already: for only the second time in her career, Angel McCoughtry was completely shut out of all postseason honors and awards. The only other time that happened was in 2012, when she was snubbed by voters after the blowup between her and Marynell Meadors that led to Meadors being fired.

Had she not been injured she might have made All WNBA. Then again, with both Hayes and Angel in mix, the vote for Dream a player might have been split and neither one makes the All WNBA team. So at least one of our players was recognized.

Hayes is the first non-1st-rounder to make 1st team All WNBA since Becky Hammon in 2009. She's the first second-rounder to make it since Janeth Arcain and Merlakia Jones in 2001. As a #14 overall pick, Hayes is the lowest pick to ever make 1st team All WNBA (Arcain and Jones were second rounders in eight team drafts).

The pick distribution of the All WNBA teams:
1-1-1-1-1-2-2-3-3-14
