This season is really unpredictable, and that's a good thing. Two weeks ago Atlanta was towards the bottom and looking like a lottery team and Minnesota looked like a title contender. Now they're swapped. Sun seem to have rebounded with A Thomas back and the Mystics are now sliding downward.

Teams #2-9 have gone between 4-6 and 6-4 over their last 10 games. And 2.5 games separates #2 from #8. Extremely competitive year so far.

The Merc are 1-5 in our last 6 games, so IMO we've got no business having a power ranking that is higher than our position on the standings (4th)

The Fever are the only team that was officially out of playoff contention at the All-Star break. Their final eight games will be used to garner more experience for their young core and potentially play the spoiler role for some of the teams in playoff contention. The Fever’s three wins this season have come against Atlanta, Minnesota and Los Angeles – teams that currently hold the Nos. 2, 3 and 4 seeds in the playoffs.

Funny how as soon as the power ranking come out they are outdated. Two of the top four lose to lesser ranked teams.

Yeah, that's what has been so great about this season IMO. Other than Seattle, Indy and maybe NY, it has been ups & downs all over the place.

Agreed my team has been in a slump lately we do not deserve #4.

Playoff wise, I see the seeding as follows, especially adding a win in for the Mystics(vs. Aces game).

#8 Dallas vs. #5 Connecticut
#7 Minnesota vs. #6 Phoenix

#4 Washington
#3 Los Angeles

#2 Atlanta
#1 Seattle

Connecticut defeats Dallas & Minnesota defeats Phoenix.

Second round: Connecticut defeats Washington & Los Angeles defeats Minnesota

Semis: Seattle def. Connecticut 3-1 & Atlanta def. Los Angeles 3-2

WNBA FINALS: Seattle def. Atlanta 3-1.

I can't see Minnesota beating Phoenix in a one-game playoff.

Why not, they beat us in every other type of game. Laughing

I would be confident against any other team with DT..but..not Minny. Laughing

There are plenty of teams I wouldn't want to play in the playoffs including both the Lynx and Mercury.

Yeah, exactly. Not that we couldn't win, but them & the Storm are both teams who have our numbers a lot more often than form would indicate. Seen it way too damn many times ...

If we have to play Seattle, It’ll be the only time in Sue’s career where I’ll actually want her to retire.

For the same reason I refused to believe that Atlanta would beat the Lynx in Minnesota tonight, until after the game was over. To paraphrase @Randy, Taurasi in a one-game playoff is like Dracula. I refuse to believe that she can lose in a one-game playoff until she actually loses in a one-game playoff.
