All rights are more valuable for the rich. The rights to have an abortion, to send your children to private school, to exclude others from your property or to hire your own criminal defense lawyer are all more fully enjoyed by people with resources. Social inequality may be a reason to support progressive taxation or robust equal protection guarantees; it’s not a reason to retreat from free speech principles.

Not all rights are more valuable to the rich! Indeed the rich often don't need those rights because they are often able to buy their protections. I agree that free speech needs to be supported, even when at times the result may be somewhat uncomfortable.

On the other hand I do not believe that corporations are entitled to free speech. Indeed there were no corporations in the US when the First Amendment was passed. Corporations were regulated by states. They were restricted from many activities, including political activity. The leap made by the Supreme Court to hold that corporations were essentially people and granting them rights is an incredible stretch from "original intent."
