As of the national anthem, I'm one of 305 people in the world watching this game. Who says female BB isn't popular? |
I’m seeing 3106 for a U17 game over YouTube on a Friday morning. Not too shabby.

Spain provided the best defense the USA has seen so far, but the USA still won easily, 66-31.
While close in some cases, it seems to me that the depth chart so far has been:
C - Boston, Belibi, Brink
F - Jones, Horston, Taylor, Brunelle
G - Fudd, Bueckers, Cooke, Van Lith, Osborne |

That’s a massive win for Mali, to beat a team that held its own up to that point with a victory over Spain. Definitely an eye opener....
I’m rooting for them against the Ferns.

Good to see Mali waltz away with a win over New Zealand.
France was down by 15 at half time, yet they shocked Australia by ten points to knock out the defending champs. United States will hopefully be shocked by Hungary to set up a great final.

I missed one high schooler as Anaia Hoard already followed her brother Jaylen to Wesleyan Christian Academy in North Carolina. He will be a freshman at Wake Forest while she is going to be a senior. Their mother is French and they have spent most of their lives there, but their father is American and both parents were pro players. |

Here is a condensed (made baskets only) video of the USA v. France final. I particularly like Bueckers' passing magic.
Jordan Horston is a super athlete, hereby dubbed a "kangazelle". With her hops she jumps center instead of the taller Boston, who, for all her other impressive skills, doesn't have much vertical leap. Horston runs, steals, runs, layups, runs, assists, runs, hits medium and long jumpers. And runs.

Other countries are already getting ready for the 2020 version. Chile, Ecuador, and Brazil took the top 3 spots in the U15 South American Championship, entitling them to spots in next year's U16 Americas Championship. |
