I abandoned my Stewart-ship for Liz, for now.

Parker is not even in the top 10 of scores so why is she being considered as an MVP candidate?

Recency bias. Parker had a huge game her last game(s), though every game should be weighed the same, IMO.
Edit: This applies to being a frontrunner (Top 3-5 MVP candidate). Of course Parker is always an MVP candidate.

If Catchings can win MVP as the 10th-highest scorer in the league, then it's not too much of a stretch to suggest that the 11th-highest could win it this season. Both players do more than just score.
But it sure doesn't feel likely to me.
Plus she has 3 stripes against her.

You refused to recognize her last year. Was it that bogus not leading scorer on her own team criteria?
It’s funny how I worked so hard to get pilight to give us more choices for the MVP Poll, and now that he’s finally doing it, somebody is complaining about having too many choices.
bballgrl, the solution is simple. If you don’t think Parker is a MVP or MVP candidate, then don’t vote for her. Right now Parker falls within the historical standards of a MVP.

I don't think Parker is a threat to win at the moment, she has some distance to make up to get to Stewart, Cambage, but she is on that next tier with EDD, Griner and Taurasi and certainly merits being in the discussion.
17.6ppg 7.0 rpg 4.6 apg 1 steal and 1 block per game 50% from the field 37% from 3, that is a petty strong/diverse stat line.

As long as the Sparks keep underperforming and as long as she sleepwalks during certain games im not thinking of her as a top 5 candidate..

I’m going with Liz, because the storm have 3 all stars. I also expect Lloyd to go back to her old Kobe ways after the all star break, and that will bring Stewart’s numbers down. |

I voted for DT because there is an argument for it, so I don’t feel silly putting the vote in on Rebs.
But if I was a real voter. Stewart. And I don’t think anyone else is particularly close.
2-6 would be Cambage, Taurasi, Griner, EDD, Parker. With Griner and Parker trailing the other four.
