With that Liz-George-Azura front line, Z stayed in at 3 and Katie used Nurse on Gray. And even on Stevens for a bit. Good moves matchup-wise as opposed to using Sugar. It still didn’t help, but it made sense at the time.

Z does yell at refs too much. You’re going to lose the benefit of the doubt after awhile. I don’t know why she’s flexing anyway when the team is down by double digits. Poor judgment, especially when you’re two Ts away from suspension.

Yes, this is exactly what I was trying to get at. Given her constant, demonstrative complaints, is it a surprise that Zellous gets called for a T when an opponent does the exact same thing and no T is called?

And Z looked directly at the player, flexed and mouthed off. I love Z, but it’s T-worthy without a doubt, whether Thornton did it or not. Not sure if Tiffany Bird gave Z today’s T, but she’s the one who gave Z the two Ts the day she got ejected. Which prompted a VERY choice word from Z. So knowing this and that you’re two Ts away from suspension (now 1), be smart.

I have said this repeatedly over many weeks: Kia Nurse should play 25 to 30 minutes per game no matter what. Though she's still a rookie, I view her as the second best player on the team.

With the Liberty at 7-14, Nurse should be out there even if she's playing badly. To help her get more comfortable with the level of play in the WNBA. And to give Katie Smith and the staff more insight into how to best use her in the future.

What makes it even worse is that Zellous has been in the league for many years and is obviously a leader on the team. I have great admiration for Shavonte Zellous as a basketball player and as someone who has spoken out on important issues. She's not as talented as some other players, but she always gives 100% and often comes through when it really counts. Being passionate is great... except when it hurts your team.

I didn’t say it was. It’s just kind of annoying when your team is -120 in FTA for the season in spite of having a paint points advantage in a majority of the games.

Fred's coaching is ineffective in close games anyway.

Id say the influx of 3pt attempts versus driving the lane has caused this discrepancy versus the refs just not liking the liberty .

That would be right except that it’s wrong. Opponents have shot 3 more threes than NY this year. It’s not the 3s. They’re attacking the basket. It doesn’t matter.

Kaela Davis out for personal reasons. Let's kick up the trade speculation.

Another technical Laughing Laughing
These refs seriously need to be retrained ACROSS the league. Everything is NOT a technical , every video review with incidental contact is NOT a flagrant foul. Rolling Eyes

There is like no ball pressure on the passer. Apply ballpressure and make it hard for them to pass it to Cambage Rolling Eyes or give the double team time to come over
