If Pokey starts playing Pondexter more than Kelsey Mtchell she should be fired immediately.

Exactly. Indiana will not be making the playoffs. Time to play the younger players. Maybe play Cappie with them, if she is going to be a veteran leader and distributor. If not, Cappie should be a locker room presence, not an on-the-court one.

Looks like the Dream post players heard me...Williams/Breland-15 pts on 7-10 fg....and Bentley with 8 pts in 9 minutes off the bench....If Williams/Breland can continue to give them 18-25 ppg, the Dream are going to be a problem for the rest of the league... 7 players who can score 10+ points:

McCoughtry
Hayes
Montgomery
Williams
Breland
Sykes
Bentley

Actually, she started Wheeler over KMitchell, which I was expecting at the beginning of the season, and started Cappie over Tiffany Mitchell.

Dream looking like an offensive powerhouse again tonight.

Funny, my takeaway from this game was to be really glad Kelsey Mitchell isn't on my team. She reminds me of Andrea Riley, right down to the I'm-across-half-court-let's-launch threes.

3807 reported on a Friday night? That means 2,000 or so.

And actually, the Mitchell sisters played as many minutes as Cappie and Wheeler, so a message might have been delivered without really changing things.

It's McCamish Pavilion. Dream attendance should be better next season when they return to Phillips Arena.

Yeah, and the 3800 is probably pretty close to accurate.

That may be who she is, but she is a lot more a part of the future of the team than Cappie is. The season is clearly over, so work.on future and see if Mitchell is a player to build around.

Giving her minutes to Cappie does nothing for the future of the team.

You concluded that Mitchell is big part of the future of the team. Maybe Pokey has concluded the same, and has nothing more to see about her. Now Pokey just wants to try to get more wins for the fans, so they like wanna come back next season.

Iā€™m not at all convinced Pokey tried to tank the season, but with the way she handled the personnel early on, the result was predictable.

K.Mitchell's greatest value to Indiana would be as a 6th Woman. She's not really a PG,nor does she have the size to defend the SG position.Trading the other Mitchell wouldn't be a bad idea.

Trade:Dupree & T.Mitchell for Gulich & the Mercury's 2019 1st rd pk.

I don't know what Happened between Dupree and Phoenix. But for what it's worth,Bonner hasn't demanded a trade.I've always thought Dupree showing up to camp out of shape and having a mediocre season were the main reasons behind her getting traded.

Dupree was cored and signed a multi-year this past spring. Does Phoenix want her back enough to take on a max contract when sheā€™s still not what they need from a starting PF? Sheā€™s been worse than usual on defense this year, and Iā€™d rank her lower than Little in that regard.

Phoenix would definitely take Dupree back. They're in win now mode. The Mercury desperately need a PF who can knock down an open jump shot and give them 10-15 points every other game.Phoenix has enough good defenders in the starting rotation to cover for Dupree(Griner,Bonner,January)...Dupree's max contract is a non-issue IMO.

The salary cap is $976,300

Taurasi-115,233
Bonner-115,500
Lyttle-115.500*
January-115,000
Griner-113,500
Little-115,500*
Mitchell-94,680
Turner-41,284*
Robinson-43,000*
Gulich-41,000*
Tolbot-41,284

Total-932,000
Salast cap-976,300
Free cap space-about 44,000

Dupree makes 115,500k...Gulich makes about 41k.....By the trade deadline.Phoenix/Indiana will have both played 25 games.

Salary for remaining 9 games:
Dupree-$30.574
Gulich-$10.853

A difference of about 20,000

Phoenix would have enough cap space to cover Dupreeā€™s salary(and Mitchell's salary) for the rest off this season.

Why would Griner of all people be cheaper than max? Is it 115K after 6 years service?
