5-4-3-2-1! I think it's time to begin the countdown.
Following tonite's, only 4 more games for the Mystics at Capitol One Arena. (9 of the Mystics remaining games are on the road.)
They don't play at home again until August; and once they wrap up those 4 remaining home games next month, it's bye bye Cap One, hello to new 4,200 seat entertainment center in Southeast next season!

Good first half for Atkins.
Diamond/Dolson need to pick it up in the 2nd half.

I just don't like all of the switching on defense by Chicago.
Great game by Atkins to complement EDD.
4-21 from 3 for the Sky...11-23 for Washington.

Cheyenne Parker got her second start (which seems like the right move), but was +/-, -28, for the game. Next closest was DeShields at -16. Gabby Williams was the only Sky with a positive +/- at +5.

She needs to be back in the starting lineup.

TRP with another spectacular performance: 13 minutes, 2 points, 2 fouls, 1 turnover, -18. What's Chong up to? We really need a competent backup PG.

Had Gabby started any of the last 3 games she would've been targeted by the opposition.....Gabby's played 6 games against Washington/LV...4 as a starter,2 as a bench player:
2 gms of the bench:10.5p/5.0r/2.0a/2.0s/1.ob/50% fg in 22.5 mpg
4 gms as a starter:7.0p/4.7r/1.7a/1.7s/.7b/37% in 23.7 mpg
Chicago loss this game by 16 pts.Washington beat Chicago the two games gabby started by an average of 22 pts.....Chicago loss this game because they shot 4-21 from 3,gave up 16 offensive rebounds, and because Stocks refuses to change her defensive philosophy.Chicago's gameplan to switch everything on defense has been a total failure. The constant switching is leading to poor mismatches.Causing the Sky to over help on defense, which is leading to wide open shots by the opposition. The switching is also hurting Chicago on the defensive boards.
1.Gabby trying to guard Toliver on the perimeter...3 pts for KT
2.Edd posting up Diamond and Sloot's little ass coming over with the double team..2 pts for EDD
3.Atkins getting the offensive rebound over Sloot,2 pts and the foul for Hawkins.
4.Edd posting up DD...DD gets the strip,EDD gets the ball back and scores...2 pts and the foul...And while all of this was going on,Parker was guarding Toliver on the perimeter
5.Quigley trying to guard Atkins.Edd sets a simple screen,Atkins hits the 3.
6.Edd posting up DD...EDD knocks DD down and score 2 pts.
And there was 15-20 more possessions similar to the ones that I just mentioned....Stocks is clueless.
BTW...Parker/Dolson improving their conditioning would also help Chicago's defense.

Gabby is not a proper PF but neither is Parker. It's kind of a lose-lose situation for Stocks now.

Why not Hill?

It's unnecessary altogether, as TRP is only at the point for a few minutes. Just keep Toliver or Cloud on the court.
From starter to reserve to out of the rotation? That's the question to ask. There is not a lineup right now that is working with TRP on the court, no matter what position she is at.

Atkins play on defense and offense is really helping EDD. I love too watch Atkins play on the court.

People have been very critical of Coach Thibault's draft selections, and rightfully so...However,Mike gets an A for drafting Atkins...Most people thought Washington was going to select Vivians, but Mike went against the experts and picked Atkins.
