Last night I went to see Anthony Jeselnik performing in Reno, absolutely the last place I would expect a WNBA reference, particularly in a positive way.

His opening act was Mo Welch. Her opening riff was on the WNBA including showing her feminist bona fides by naming all of the WNBA teams. She has clearly been doing this for awhile because she included the San Antonio Stars instead of the Las Vegas Aces. I seriously doubt that more than a handful of the 2000+ in attendance noticed.

Essentially. I did reach out to her and she said she has mentioned the Aces sometimes in her sets but hasn't worked them into the song. I suspect that because she was the opening act she had limited time.


Actually I'm glad I hadn't seen the bit on Conan if only because it was completely fresh to me.
