I think the Dream did pretty well on that, particularly because I think maybe Holmes asked for the trade to the Sun to be close to home. However, a few good games doesn't prove Billings is going to last and 2rps are always a roll of the dice. Holmes is not a proven player either, but looked pretty useful at times. With the return of Angel and and emergence of Sykes her playing time would have dropped a lot anyway.

Yeah, New York desperately need another guard for Smith to have no clue how to fit into her rotation.

This would obviously be a trade for the future.

Start Boyd /Nurse in the backcourt...Bring Jones/Hartley off the bench...trade Prince/Rodgers.

Copper for Stokes.

Chicago could definitely use a player with the defensive capabilities of Stokes....NY could use a young SF with upside.

How about Katie Smith and any guard other than Nurse to Indiana for Chatman.

Chatman’s a hero for winning her second game of the season? Surprised

Why would they not want her back. I think they only traded her to get January. She hasn't been as good in Indy as she was in Phx. If she isn't traded back to Phx she indicated that something has to happen so she can be with her family which means she would probably retire.

There are reasons why she may not be wanted back .

BTW - it was not DuPree for January, but it was essentially Dupree for Camille Liltte as part of a 3 team trade.

PHX basically got Gulich for DRob and got January for this year’s #8 pick, which IND used to pick up All Rookie Vivians.

1)Loyd for T.Charles

2)2019 1st rd pick for C.Williams

Yeah,Seattle's in 1st place, but they can still improve.J.Loyd's an inconsistent liability.Loyd is slightly better than Williams...Acquiring Charles would upgrade the starting and add depth to Seattle's bench.

G-Bird
G-Williams
C-Charles
F-Stewart
F-Clark
6-Howard

Loyd is A LOT better than Williams... The Storms starting 5 clearly has awesome chemistry so bringing in 2 new starters makes little sense. Especially someone like Charles who doesn't seem like the type of player to take a back seat.

Loyd is not A Lot better than Williams...

Williams:12.3p/6.0r/2.9a/.7s/46%/40%/62% in 27.1 mpg......CW is a career 46%/34%/74% shooter

Loyd:16.5p/4.7r/3.6a/1.0s/42%/35%/88% in 30 mpg.....JL is a career 43%/33%/64% shooter.

That's not A Lot better...Adding Charles more than makes up the difference, and would give Seattle two legit 20 ppg playoff scorers. That combination would be tough to defend.

CWill is not a gamebreaker like Loyd is. She's not a 3-point shooter, doesn't get to the line, relies on inefficient shots. Loyd is the kind of player that can singlehandedly win playoff games and every year we are reminded how important those players are.

Loyd can shoot you in,or shoot you out of a playoff game...

8-18 fg 2016 playoffs
4-14 fg 2017 playoffs

T.Charles can also singlehandedly win playoff games...Loyd gets the edge over Williams,I'll give you that. But Courtney can also be an explosive scorer if given the opportunity.......The addition of Charles would put Seattle on another level.

Loyd is not going anywhere and also never change a winning team (N.1 in the league right now). Yes she can be a bit inconsistent but she is still young and this is only her 4th year in the league. That will only improve.

She and Stewie are the future of this franchise. Stewie is the MVP of this team (and the league right now) and can take this team to the next level. Adding Charles will only hurt her development because Loyd has accepted being the 2nd scoring option on this team. I dont see Charles doing that in her prime

New York fans might wonder why she hasn't done it in several years, then.

Loyd's significantly better than Williams, but I bet there are coaches out there who'd back themselves to be able to coach Williams into learning how to draw contact - which would raise her ceiling enormously. But Loyd's only 24 as well, and has already shown the capacity to work on her game and develop impressively while in the pros.

Seattle have found a really nice fit next to Stewart with Howard. I wouldn't want to screw around with it like that with a super-high usage player like Charles who essentially plays the same position as their existing star.

Clarendon for Bentley. If you can't make a trade for Williams, then get rid of the other half of the problem. Bentley can play back up 1 or 2 and Clarendon gives the Sun a player than can back up the 1 or 2.

Charles unfairly gets a bad rap....Toliver dropped 32 pts in last years playoff game while Tina/EDD both scored 18 points...The year before that,Taurasi,Griner,Taylor, and Dupree scored a combined 86 points.

Liberty playoff starting lineup:
2016-Charles,Wright,Cash,Swords,Rodgers
2017-Charles,Vaughn,Zellous,Hartley,Prince

Hard to win elimination games when you're playing with four bench players.

I was gonna say earlier that they might've tanked Clarendon's value to such an extent that she wouldn't be enough to get Bentley any more. Turns out that was kinda right, but you were damn close: http://www.wnba.com/news/dream-trade-layshia-clarendon-draft-pick-to-sun-for-alex-bentley/

Bentley has been having a much better year than Clarendon so I guess the 2rp was necessary.
