Both are playing again, so I don't get that part unless that idea is to get insurance in case of future injuries. I suppose the notion might be that an Old Cappie may still be better than Lucas ever will be. However, if Cappie was really let go from LA due to complaining about lack of playing time, I don't see that as being a good fit for the Dream.

I do seem to recall Cappie and Angel where teammates somewhere. Hmmm.

I can still think of other players I would rather have: Chong for ex. ShakT, for another.

It occurs to me the deadline for guaranteed season long pay is close so maybe they just cut Lucas so they don't have to pay her all season. Maybe they just sign her to some 7 day deals.

I guess that’s a good business move, but it’s tough building team spirit that way. If you’re looking for a better option, why not give somebody else, anybody else a try right now instead of stringing someone along.

Cappie and Angel played suprisingly well together for Fenerbahce. But Cappie still had game then

Here are some candidates to replace Lucas:

Lucas herself - on a string of 7 day deals
Chong - can't shoot
Gwathmey -
Kizer - maybe injured
Shak Thomas (my favorite)
Musina????
NOBODY

I'm sure there are other possibilities as well.

Alex Harden
Chelsea Hopkins

Not sold on most of those names. Tried Hopkins already. Peterson struck out twice now I think though I'm pretty sure Sykes be happy with her on the team. Faris, Pohlen and Harden never did much on their prior teams.

I guess there is also Bulgak, Burdick, and Graves, out there, but we've already tried Burdick. I'd rather go with Bulgak of this bunch.

How about a trade for Kaela Davis? Zero minutes the last two games.

Not interested. She's not getting minutes because she's not very good.

She’s better than you think. Just needs the opportunity that seems to be available in ATL.

An opportunity to do what? Miss shots and turn the ball over? We've got plenty of people who can do that already.

One thing about the Dream (and probably most teams) - they never cut the players who miss shots and turn the ball over. They just keep on playing them. They cut the players that never play instead.

SO for that reason, I'd take Davis, for a 2nd round pick. Or maybe Clarendon.

Let's give up Montgomery and keep Clarendon

Just saw on Instagram that the Dream signed Alexis Prince to a 7 day contract.

This actually makes sense. A big guard/SF.
Now let’s see what she can do. You got 7 days.

Gives us another combo guard who is a much better 3 point threat, and who is having a good season. Hopefully familiarity with Hayes and Angel and Collen helps the transition.
