Hopefully Bonner is ok. She came up gimpy toward the end of the last game.

so Vegas just signed Sequoia Holmes. Wonder if Coffey is out for even longer than expected.

DB & BG didn't come out with the team when they first came out but came out about 5 minutes later. Whew...

Aces are really good at chucking up shots.

Taurasi faked that 'foul' by Nared.

Taurasi had 5 seconds when she rebounded the ball and Bonner got a great look. Neither player looked rushed at all.

Absolutely agreed! You need to start guarding both of them as soon as they hit the court....heck, as soon as they wake up in the morning! lol!

One bright note for the Aces, Park has 11 rebounds in 20 minutes.

Brittney Griner has her flaws, but how many players in the league can do what she did in this game?

Of course, Las Vegas is pretty bad ...

Griner was up against two rookies with Park & Wilson guarding her. Neither knew what to do defensively. Griner made it look easy out there.

Which is my point ... there are very few players who can take advantage of such mismatches as well as Griner. It's important to play well against top players, but it's also vital to be able to exploit the weaknesses of lesser players.

That ability was one reason the Warriors dominated the Cavaliers -- even at that point in postseason, the ability to punish poor matchups is a major factor in success.

FWIW, Griner makes it look lok easy against 80% of the league.

She makes everything look easy except for rebounding.

Phoenix is a perfect 7-0 on the season when Griner, Taurasi, and Bonner all score 12+ points in a game.

With yesterday's win, the Mercury improve to 7-0 when taking a lead to halftime and 7-0 when leading at the end of the third quarter.

With the compressed season, do you think veterans like Dee might regress due to fatigue? Or do think Sandy will give her more rest?

It is difficult to say. My guess is that she will continue to play Taurasi at around 31 minutes per game. Phoenix is not good when Talbot replaces Taurasi. And Diana is such a facilitator and scorer, Phoenix really needs her on the floor as much as possible.

I know the NBA season (and playoffs) are much longer than the WNBA, but many/most W players also play overseas. Given that he NBA rests vets (think Pop, but there are others), it makes sense to rest older vets in the W. I know Bird sits out games. It just seems to make sense. Especially given the playoff format, you need to be at your best then. Of course the top 4 spots are less risky...

I would think Phoenix could play the midget lineup (January, Mitchell) a little more to give DT more of a break if need be.
