Please add me to those who believe that Zahui B should start. And it isn't just the fact that Zahui B has been playing better than Vaughn, though she surely has. Zahui B is young and can still improve. Vaughn is near the end of her career.

Good move that time. CT was playing small again. It stabilized NY after CT got running. Zahui gave solid minutes too though, on both ends. I like her energy.

Hartley’s PG play has been steadily improving, that terrible start to the third quarter last game not withstanding. She still holds her dribble too much but considering she isn’t a true PG, the 3:1 ATO looks ok right now. She’s playing really well tonight.

CT came out really flat tonight. They’re too explosive not to make a run at us. Hopefully we hold them off.

Her youth was another part that I was thinking but failed to mention. And honestly, I think we’d both agree no matter who starts we want Zahui getting her share of minutes either way. I know we think alike in that way in general.

Also in relation to the general discussion of who should be in or out, Katie’s substitutions have been working well tonight. Boyd gave energy vs. the CT sub guards. Going small stabilized the team after CT cut the lead to 3.

FYI for the people who didn’t see, Stokes is in a boot. It’s her left foot. Anybody remember if it was also the left foot last time?

Now based off this i would agree . Im still waiting to give Vaughn about 2 or 3 more games before she comes off the starting line up.

How long has the Liberty had those verdigris color home uniforms, or are they something new? Also, do they use verdigris accent color on the MSG court for Liberty games? My memory is failing.

This small lineup makes no sense. CT has a plethora of offensive rebounds since.

Damn!!! Tina was gassed in the fourth. Should've given Zahui B more minutes. And that small line-up has yet to work out for us. When will Katie realize this?

Katie Smith really doesn't trust Zahui B. I think that's becoming increasingly obvious as we see Coleman-at-the-4 lineups and Vaughn at 5 in crunch time, whatever the hell may have happened at any other point during games.

I would’ve been fine with Vaughn even. That lineup made zero sense. Jones got several offensive rebounds just by reaching over everyone. Absurd. I’m not happy. That lineup might work with a healthy, fresh team. Not with an undermanned, undersized tired one. As soon as Coleman subbed in I said to my buddy, against Jones and Chiney? Young, fast legs against a gassed Tina and an aging undersized Coleman. Come on man.

Charles shouldn't have played 37 minutes tonight. Or any night. This needs to stop now. 32 minutes max for Tina.

On the obvious level, the Liberty lost because of a great three-point shot by Stricklen at the buzzer. On a deeper level, I'd say the Liberty lost because Connecticut got 16 offensive rebounds. And because New York doesn't have a #2 scorer they can count on.

Kia Nurse may be that player in time, but that's too much of a burden to put on a rookie who has now played exactly six WNBA games. And I don't see anyone else on the roster who can be counted on to be the reliable #2 scorer that the team needs.

Last season, not counting Brittany Boyd's two games averaging 13 PPG, the team's second-leading scorer was Epiphanny Prince at 12.0 PPG. Shavonte Zellous averaged 11.7 PPG, Sugar Rodgers 10.5. Not good enough.

NY was in it because CT missed 10 FTs, shooting a horrendous 14-24, 58%.

There has to be concern about when Kiah Stokes will get healthy, whether she can stay healthy, and how well she'll play even if she is healthy. What's clear is that playing Coleman at the 4 and Vaughn at the 5 in crunch time is a recipe for failure. I'm not saying that Katie Smith SHOULD trust Zahui B. yet in those situations. But I believe she has to try it a bit and see what happens.

It's a tough combination to have a rookie head coach and a roster with one star, many other players with various talents and weaknesses, and in many cases no obvious answers as to when, how, and how much to use them. If Bill Laimbeer had the current roster, I believe he'd still be trying to figure this out. Even harder for Katie Smith in her first season in this role.

It felt like CT had 10 of those offensive rebounds in the fourth quarter.
