With Stewie they have been a lottery team twice now ..Does that take away from the value ? |
Seattle has made the playoffs every season since Stewart was drated(2016,2017)....And even if they were in the lottery,Breanna would have a legitimate excuse(A Power Forward playing the Center position:Langhorne)
Sylvia Fowles missed the playoffs every season prior to Chicago drafting EDD.

Even without considering the Sparks currently only have two active post players, do you think the Sparks have a flawed roster?

The most optimal position for Parker and Ogwukmike is power forward...However,the Sparks are able to thrive with the Parker/Ogwumike combination due to the greatness of both players, and a great team defense.Parker's also a legit 6'4 with broad shoulders and a long wingspan...Even though post players like Fowles and Griner can be a matchup problem for LA...Parker has the ability to slow them down with her long reach and strong upper body.Parker can also dish out just as much punishment on the offensive side of the ball.......Stewart on the other hand just doesn't have the size and strength to bang with the bigger post players and remain effective on offense for a full 40 minutes...Stewart has the wingspan, but Candace's upper body strength is far superior.....And as for Langhorne, she's average on offense and mediocre on defense...and the Storm team defense over the last 4-5 years has been terrible.

Parker should drop a couple of spots on next weeks "Race to MVP" list..The Sparks are showing no signs of slowing down without her.
Cambage and Skylar should also crack week 1's top 10 list.

Alyssa Thomas added a longer range shot to her game. If she makes it consistent and keeps playing as good as she has in the first two games she’s my MVP but she won’t get it cuz she’s not a “star”. Probably go to Fowles (yawn)

Charles and Wilson should be off on the basis of they’re on winless teams.

http://www.wnba.com/news/race-to-mvp-storm-duo-making-noise/
1. Nneka Ogwumike, Los Angeles Sparks
Last Week: 3
2. Brittney Griner, Phoenix Mercury
Last Week: 1
3. Sylvia Fowles, Minnesota Lynx
Last Week: 2
4. Breanna Stewart, Seattle Storm
Last Week: 9
5. Chelsea Gray, Los Angeles Sparks
Last Week: 5
6. Jewell Loyd, Seattle Storm
Last Week: Unranked
7. Tina Charles, New York Liberty
Last Week: 6
8. Elena Delle Donne, Washington Mystics
Last Week: 4
9. Alyssa Thomas, Connecticut Sun
Last Week: Unranked
10. Liz Cambage, Dallas Wings
Last Week: Unranked
I don’t think Alyssa Thomas scores enough to get serious consideration, but she’ll still be a more credible candidate than the guards, who will likely fade.
Nice to see Cambage finally getting thrown a bone. I’m sure she’ll try to find meat on it.
A’ja Wilson should get some chirping very soon unless they’re assuming the Aces will end up too bad of a team, but Charles and Fowles aren’t that far ahead in the win column.

Delle Donne's essentially missed half her team's games. Dunno what she's doing on anyone's list. |

This last list is posted a little late. It doesn’t reflect this week’s events. In a couple days I expect Fowles to drop some, Delle Donne may drop off, will Wilson make an appearance, or maybe Parker shows up if she has a huge game against the Lynx. The league office tends to be Sparks-centric.
