That's a really slow start for the Sparks. They deserve to be down there! I thought the Mercury beat the Wings, but I guess that must have been a pre-season game? Rolling Eyes

Those are the pre-season records. WNBA.com hasn't updated the standings since the season began.

Agreed but regarding the sun , they need to finish top 2. I dont like their chances in a single elimination. That could end up being minnys fat lady if they keep playing like they are.

Why would that matter at the time if one team had a better SOS than the other though???

There would be nothing wrong with ranking the Sun over the Sparks due to their better record, but conversely it isn't absurd the other way around. When we really consider the circumstances of their victory over the LA team it does put into question the Suns victory. The short handed ( sans posts ) were leading the Suns through out the game until the fourth quarter when they just ran out of gas. The fact was that the Sun were fortunate to catch them on the last game of a road trip. their starters had to play extended minutes and everyone had to really hustle to compensate for their lack of posts. This resulted in Jones and the other Sun posts being unstoppable down stretch. With out double teams the Suns could not be stopped and the short handed Sparks guards could not continue the hustle effort it took to compensate for their lack of posts defensively. Watching the teams at this point in time I would have to pick the Sparks as the best team.
