Basketball move by Angel? Maybe. Except I remember her doing the same thing to Tina in 2016 and breaking her nose.

Man Montgomery makes low IQ plays sometimes. I think Clarendon has a higher awareness of her teammates.

Thornton was a nice find for Bibb.

If the idea was to separate Angel and Clarendon because both players dominate the basketball...As crazy as it sounds,i'd probably start Clarendon and bring Angel off the bench.
This would be my starting linuep:
G-Clarendon
G-Hayes
C-IMS
F-Ewill
F-Sykes
6-McCoughtry
7-Breland
8-Montgomery
9-Billings
10-Dantas
A more traditional starting lineup with plenty of offense coming off the bench.Angel would play 26-32 mpg.

Two fouls on Angel. I believe she argued them both.

Liz is much improved from her first time around but she really needs to figure out how to cut down the fouls.

This isn’t the type of game that’s the highest quality that we see in the league but it’s the most intense game I’ve seen this year.

Not great shot selection by Diggins and late getting back on D.

That play not withstanding Dallas ball movement in the 4th has been good.

Renee is a strong defender, especially off the bench where her energy can fuel a team over short stretches. But I give you the other two. Calls her own number too much. |
Unfortunately,Montgomery's lack of size makes her an easy scoring target for opposing PG's....They can get clean looks at the basket just by shooting over the top of Renee....Montgomery gives effort on defense, but to no avail.

I give Dallas a ton of credit in that they played excellent transition defense and defended the paint well. I’d also say that Atlanta missed an awful lot of layups that they’ll generally make as the season transpires.
Should this type of defensive effort be the norm for Dallas (they’ve played only strong teams so far) then top 4 can be in their reach.

thornton's hustle will not show up in the highlights, but she has been all over the place tonight, and solid on offense too.
