Atkins seems to be justifying her draft position. At least for one night.

Since it seems myrtle isn't here, I'll ask -"Why is Hamby in there?"

I'm back. Swords was so effective. Why did she go out? Did I miss an injury?

Hamby is actually doing more than Swords, Park or Bone did tonight.

Bill didn't really want to win?

I did, but Bill needed scoring in the 2nd half and Swords has never been an offensive option in her career.

Washington has to fight hard just to beat the Aces at
home? Emma come back! EMMA! Gunslinger Emma rides off into the sunset.

Also the fever game was close as well. 2-0 but struggling at home against lottery bound teams. Well, the only part that counts is the 2-0.

If you're looking for Hamby to be your scorer, you're in deep do-do. And all the dumb other stuff she does is just ugly. Swords was at least getting much needed rebounds and doing some rim protection. When she went out, the Mystics just drove straight on down the alley and either got to the line or missed bunnies.

I thought she went a bit higher than expected, but watched her quite a bit in college and thought she could play at this level. She has a nice all around game and plays hard. I think she's also probably the right fit with the right team.

Mystics will keep it rolling. KT & THawk will keep "Ahh'Ja" contained. And right now, there is nobody else. Bill thought he could get something out of Kelsey Bone. He was wrong. T.Young will keep Mo Currie in check but there's nobody to stop the host of guards Styx will bring in.

Bone only has 33 games left to become something again....sucks

now 32.

It's hard to win without perimeter shooting -- 1-9 from deep shows not only inaccuracy but an inability to get threes off.

Then again, it's early-season WNBA basketball, which by definition is far from crisp.

Aces are missing their 3 best guards, wouldn't put much stock into their offensive struggles.

Excellent point ... they will look much different soon ...

Still, is Moriah Jefferson coming back from her mystery injury this season? Has anyone seen a quote from Laimbeer about her?

In a preseason interview I think he said she would miss 4-6 weeks. Or maybe the wording was "at least" 4 weeks.

Will they? I think it’s a bit optimistic to think the team will do a 180 when everyone is back. Plum is coming off a rather mediocre individual overseas season, and McBride will be McBride but she still can’t do it alone until Jefferson returns. And like you said, we don’t really know when Jefferson returns.
