NPF now trying to save a little face. A few days ago, the Scrap Yard Dawgs said they were leaving because of differences in how they thought the league should be run and how the league wanted to run things. NOW, the league puts out a release saying the LEAGUE terminated the team:

"due to repeated violations of the team’s franchise agreement, including the SYD’s repeated failure to make timely payments to players, vendors and the league. The SYD also repeatedly communicated efforts to start its own league despite the violation of the team’s obligations to the NPF, other team owners and players."

Looks like the league got a little pissy when the Dawgs aired the dirty laundry.

And the Akron Racers will change to the Cleveland Comets but still be a travel team?? This league is grasping at straws to survive.

Death throws. As the league dies, it will do anything and everything to stay alive. It will get sad right before it dies.

I'll be interesting to see what the schedule looks like whenever it comes out. The Aussie team will play it's "home" games throughout the midwest. This Cleveland team, who knows?? And the Chinese team from 2017 was simply a travel team with no home games.

The Eagles are based out of Vero Beach, FL. The Aussie Spirit are based in Kansas City, Missouri. As for Cleveland, who knows.

The NPF released it's schedule. Laughable as half the schedule has venues listed as TBA(mostly for the Beijing Eagles). Aussie Spirit are basically a travel team playing in Kansas City, Springfield & St. Joseph, MO; Hutchison & Wichita, KS; Ames, IA & Omaha, NE. Cleveland Comets will play in Parma, Canton & Avon, OH.

The NPF held it's draft on Thursday. But one thing confuses me, if the Aussie Spirit is made up of Australian players and the Beijing Eagles are made up of Chinese players, why were they included in the draft? This league is so odd.

I'm just happy that a player from my Alma Mater got drafted. Pitcher Randi Rupp from the Texas State Bobcats got drafted by Cleveland.

GO BOBCATS!!!

The Beijing Eagles' home games are now listed at Embry-Riddle AERONAUTICAL STADIUM in Daytona Beach, Florida & CASWELL PARK in North Mankato, MN.

Omg lol I grew up very close to Caswell Park. That’s where the MN State high school tournament is held.

NPF has started its season a week earlier than originally scheduled. Sort of. For a whole week the Aussie Spirit & Beijing Eaglers will play each other 11 (ELEVEN!!!) times before Chicago, Cleveland and the Pride start. The first six games are at St. Joseph's, MO with the next 5 at Daytona Beach, FL. And despite participating in the NPF draft, the Beijing Eagles' roster has all but on Chinese player on it. Angel Bunner is the only non-Chinese player on their roster. The Aussie Spirit roster appears to be about 50% Australian & 50% American. The Cleveland Comets' roster has 6 Americans on their roster while the rest are Chinese.

Doesn't look like the '18 draftees have been signed/place on rosters yet.

Another questionable decision by the league. Really curious to see if this is their final season.

Cleveland Comets announce signing of pitcher Randi Rupp of Texas State (draftee) to a 2-year contract. Doubt she'll make more than peanuts, but at least she can now say she's a pro ball player. So there's that.

USSSA Pride won their 4th NPF title yesterday, defeating the Chicago Bandits 3 games to 0. Curious to see if this will be the last season for the NPF and if not, what they'll do with their 3 travel teams next season.

USSSA Pride to leave NPF, will continue as independent team.

https://www.flosoftball.com/articles/6562890-usssa-pride-part-ways-with-the-npf-opt-for-non-renewal

The NPF is really on its last leg. Three teams held up by their national teams(Canada, China & Australia), a travel team(Cleveland Comets) & Chicago.

Really sad the league has failed to get their act together. They MIGHT get through the 2020 season, but it might not. Sad

They're changing the format next season. Making each series an "event" with the opportunity to play other teams from other leagues and countries?!?!? Each "event" will be played in various venues throughout the country and feature up to 4 teams in a round-robin type of series?!?! Check the league's website for the exact details if you can understand it.

looks like one's happening already--set for next June.

I'd go to one if it was within driving distance of me!
