Was only kind of excited for this game until going to the pre-season game on Sunday. Now I can’t wait! Cmon Wings, don’t let me down!!!! Take it to them. A bit of foul trouble on the Merc and they will be ripe for a good old whooping!

If the combo of Cambage and Stevens can slow Griner somewhat, I see the Wings winning. Taurasi is old, and while still good, not nearly as good as she was in her prime. Little is useless. Lyttle still has game, but like Taurasi, is not nearly as good as she used to be. January is coming off a missed season due to injury and won’t be much better than Robinson was last year for them. Bonner is returning after missing last year due to pregnancy. She played good overseas but might take a bit of time to re-gel with the Mercury. Currie was good for them last year and shes now gone.

It’ll be fun to see who punches who in the face first between Griner and Cambage.

Not much better than a matchup of Cambage vs. BG to mark Cambage's return to the league. Dallas is the most intriguing team in the league in my opinion, mainly because I seem to be the only person who doesn't think they're all that good...comparatively speaking to the rest of the league. Because talent-wise they ARE good. But they're generally still on the young side and talented teams are still going to be losing games in what looks like a year of parity. If defense, intangibles and coaching are the deciding factors in what figure to be mainly competitive games, I'm not seeing how you can have that much faith in the Wings.

That said, Stevens is a UConn player who will probably prove to be more ready for the WNBA than her collegiate numbers on their own suggest. She looked good in those highlights vs. NY. If getting her and Cambage on the floor together is workable then maybe I'm 100% wrong in my assessment. Either way, I think the beauty of this season is there's so much newness to it. New talent, returning talent. I'm a season ticket holder at $14 a game from a midcourt seat. While the new venue is a downer, I'm still pumped from the standpoint that in exchange for the expenditure the games should be enormously competitive night in and night out.

Cambage looks like she's in great shape and really moving well.

First game of the season and the refs don't seem to know what they're doing.

I was just about to post this. Looks well conditioned. She couldn't go this long in 1 qtr back then.
