That’s an easy mccall to make, unless Pokey has decided to purge all the Mavungas.

Fever waive Graves, Peterson, and Pohlen-Mavunga

So they are at 13 now with Johnson. Don't think they need all those posts, so I'm guessing Johnson may be back sooner than later. Last cut is either McCall or Mavunga.

A little disappointed to see Peterson go, but she was a long shot. Glad to see the Fever move on from Pohlen. She was a nice piece to have her first couple of years, but she is clearly not part of the future of the franchise.

Great White Hope syndrome?

You talking about Stevens? That stereotyping is pitiful.

More like racism.

I'll bet these two won't be watching the Royal Wedding this Saturday.

Only Johnson and Achonwa remain from the team that played in the finals three seasons ago.

Larkins will find a spot on someone's bench.

When healthy you could probably start S. Johnson at the 3 spot.

This appears to me to be a very bad team ...how many of these starters start for, say, Dallas or Atlanta (much less the Sparks or Lynx)?

Might as well start Mitchell and Vivians since you're going to lose anyway ...

I have to believe that a few of the players on the waiver wire will be better than some of those listed on the depth chart above.

I’m fairly sure Pokey let Coleman go because she felt she had a Day 1 starter in Vivians. If indeed Gwathmey is starting over Vivians, that’s kind of a bitter pill to swallow.

IMO, I don't think Vivians will be that good but I agree that she should start.

Not at all. This team is planning for the future, and Coleman isn't part of it. Same with Larkins. Dupree is good enough to keep around and help the team transition - the others needed cut loose.

My impression has always been that Larkins was pretty laid back. I wonder if she felt a bit 'entitled' and she and Pokey simply didn't see eye to eye. But I would be curious if Pokey didn't at least try to trade her for a 2nd rounder next year.

She tends to play as hard as anyone and chase everything on the floor, though. Even when you're going super-young and clearly rebuilding, you want the right people around to 'create a culture'. My impression from outside is I'd much rather have Larkins around for that than Dupree - the poster-girl for empty stats and half-assed defense.

You want to have multiple lottery pick seasons, but I’m pretty sure that’s not Pokey’s vision.

But her ineptitude to get something, anything for assets doesn’t really bode well for the future.

100 percent agree. Trial by fire, but get them early minutes and experience, so they can adjust to the speed of the game and reach their respective potential.

Coleman clearing waivers should tell you there was nothing to get for her. Just because one team doesn't wants to get rid of a player doesn't mean anyone is willing to give something up for her.

If you think they had so much value why aren't you saying what you think Minnesota should have given up to get them?
